The youth hostel is located not far from the center of Burg, right next to a large football field.We were a group of 14 people and used the campsite right 10m next to the club football pitch. Unfortunately, the campsite has neither a power connection nor small orientation lighting....not entirely safe for us in October, as it was completely dark from 7 p.m....when the stadium lights went out.The food was manageable and unfortunately not sufficient.It is astonishing that despite having booked half board, some food was no longer available during dinner time. I'm talking about pasta and goulash here. The person in charge at the youth hostel explained to me that the pasta was out. Bread was no longer available either. So you ask yourself why you book half board.For this reason, I wanted to check out early the following day so that I didn't have to throw out more than €30. However, those responsible were not prepared to transfer back the amount I had transferred in advance for the remaining days.Well, it leaves a very bad aftertaste for me. I have never experienced so little service in a youth hostel before... and I also find this very out of date.Our group will no longer spend its time here in the future and will advise anyone in the Potsdam area not to consider this.

We had booked a weekend with half board. The rooms were very clean and nice. The Spreewald dinner on Friday evening was plentiful and delicious with potatoes, quark and dead grandma. Breakfast and barbecue evening too. We had gone to bed at 10 p.m. after a long bike tour, but a group of children continued to make noise until midnight. The town and thermal baths were within walking distance. We will certainly come back.

Beautiful youth hostel, if you like peace and nature, this is the place for you!Were there for a week (arrived by local transport), the connection is great and you can get everywhere. Unfortunately the weather changed a bit but there were enough activities for me and my little daughter.The room was very clean (shower with sink in the room, toilets on the floor). The toilets are also well maintained and clean.We only had breakfast and that was very sufficient, everything you need to start the day well.The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating… we look forward to seeing you next time.Thank you very much 😊

If I hadn't been required to come here for work purposes, I would never have stayed in such accommodation anyway.The youth hostel is very remote. In addition, the quality and taste of the food is absolutely poor. Lukewarm tap water is available between meals. The cabins in the 'forest' are an absolute insult. They smell moldy, are dark and the beds are far too small for grown men. The rooms in the main building are ok. Have a shower. There are only toilets in the hallway. Privacy is absolutely nonexistent.Adults should look for decent accommodation and not cut corners.I think it's ok for children/school classes.

We arrived at a perfect house on the banks of the river, the house is equipped with everything you can think of. The home design is amazing, everything is new, inviting and pleasant. The owner of the house, Daniel is charming and just wanted to help with what is needed. We were 5 people, the rooms are large and spacious, the location is perfect, a river near the house, a private pier,our experience was good, we will definitely come back...

Nostalgic to no end. Just like it was back then. Water stains on the ceiling, mold in the shower. Well, the price for the bungalow was very impressive. I'll never stay there again!

We were here for a short vacation with friends. The many negative reviews unsettled us in advance. However, we are thrilled. Really good for a youth hostel. We would come again! Nice staff, food was really ok. We can recommend this youth hostel for families with normal requirements.

We really loved the youth hostel. It is in beautiful surroundings that invite you to relax and explore. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We would particularly like to highlight the delicious food: the meals were always fresh, varied and tasty. The only downside was the WiFi, which was unfortunately often slow and unreliable. There is still room for improvement here. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and we would definitely recommend the youth hostel.

While the food and environment was good, there were probably bed bugs in the beds. It looked like there were crumbs everywhere in the beds, but afterwards we all had red itchy spots on our arms & legs.

The hostel is wonderfully located and you can have a great time there. The food was ok, you can always find something.We stayed in the Finn huts and they were getting really old. The beds/mattresses are terrible, as are the pillows. The huts were full of cobwebs, even though they had been freshly cleaned.The sanitary facilities were ok, they just need to be cleaned more often (unfortunately there are idiots who behave in an impossible way) and the towels could be replenished every now and then.It would also be advisable for an in-house supervisor to be present until nighttime. We were unlucky enough to have a very pushy on-site roommate class. From bullying to trying to get in through the windows to throwing things out of the upper windows, everything was there. The youth hostel can't do anything about that... But it would have been great if it had been stopped.

Let's start with the worst: The food was bad. Half of the class had stomach aches and even vomited. A shard was even found in the food. The rooms: it was stuffy, hot and when we first entered the room there were a bunch of mosquitoes and other small things. The location is OK. It's a 15 minute walk to the nearest supermarket. You must know.

Unfortunately the rooms were full of insects and the meat wasn't cooked through. As a result, the majority had abdominal pain and one person experienced constant vomiting. Very unfriendly staff. The last point I would like to mention is that we were not allowed to go out for eight hours in order to prevent a clash with the highly aggressive Cotbuss fans. As a result of this game, there was increased noise pollution over the course of the evening due to screaming fans and very loud music (until around 1:30 am). The youth hostel is under no circumstances recommended, also considering the prices in relation to the service.

A beautifully located JHB. Unfortunately, everything is getting very old, but the JHB is in a fantastic location. The food is simply great and you don't miss anything. The employees at the reception, especially the young employee with the dark, long hair, are so incredibly friendly. They absolutely have to preserve this. Perhaps a few investments could breathe more life into the JHB. The standard of the rooms also needs to be reconsidered. Some of it is no longer up to date. But overall it was a really nice long weekend. Many thanks to the hard-working employees.

The youth hostel could pass for a psychiatric hospital because the rooms are empty and broken, and the beds are just big enough to fit in. The internet only works in the cafeteria and not always, it's not even enough for a speed test. There are only community showers and toilets, which are used by everyone. There is no sink or toilet in the rooms. Even after airing it for a long time, the room still smells of an indefinable smell that doesn't go away. The rooms have apparently not been renovated for a very long time, which is noticeable through many signs. Locker sized cupboard with a storage compartment. Duvets are dirty and so are the covers. There is only 1 socket in each room, so 4, as the rooms can be occupied, is not enough. The food is catastrophic because there was only extremely dry bread for dinner. The buffet is a self-service buffet.
