Pleasantly surprised, design, magnificent room with beautiful high ceilings, shower bath..Check out 11amBreakfast a bit slow.The whole hotel is very beautiful.I recommend.

Rooms on the dark side, couldn't open a window... air conditioning not optimal.Beds were fine.

I recently stayed at the Monument Hotel and, overall, I do recommend it. The hotel itself has so much potential, but there were a few noticeable issues that affected my experience.Firstly, the bed was incredibly comfortable, which was a big plus. However, the thermostat was set on a timer, which was inconvenient. I woke up several times during the night to realize the A/C had turned off. It’s clear that the hotel is trying to mitigate costs by using this system, but it detracts from comfort.The room was fitted with high-quality furniture and materials, but it was obvious that the hotel cut costs during installation and with the small details. For example, there was a stain or dirt on the bathroom floor, and the Kleenex provided was ridiculously thin—about the size and quality of two pieces of toilet paper. The paint around the trim in the bathroom was not done well, and the trimming was slightly crooked, which gave an overall cheap feel. These small oversights really diminish what could have been a much better experience.In addition, I found a silverfish in the room. While it wasn’t necessarily disturbing, it further contributed to the room feeling less premium. It made me wonder if there were any creeping into my bedding during the night. I have attached photos showing the silverfish to prove it was truly in the room, with zoomed-out photos to verify that this is not a false claim.Another point of frustration was the check-in process. Agoda did not provide enough information, so I had to rely on reviews from other sites to find out that the hotel uses a self-check-in system. When I arrived, I had issues with the check-in console and had to seek assistance from the restaurant staff who are also responsible for helping hotel guests. It wasn’t a major issue but was inconvenient and something that could be addressed with clearer communication.Lastly, I was overcharged by €31.50 for "tax and commission" by the hotel, which was not disclosed properly at the time of booking. This led to a lengthy dispute between Agoda and the hotel. After several hours of back-and-forth, Agoda did refund me the overcharge, but the situation was unnecessarily complicated.In conclusion, this is a great room and hotel with a lot of potential, but it falls short due to cost-cutting measures and a lack of attention to important details. With more effort and work, it could easily be a 5-star experience.

A beautiful and wonderful hotel, the staff is very helpful, the hotel is self-registered, meaning there is no reception, and beautiful rooms.

The location of the hotel is excellent. The room is in good repair.But unfortunately, the air conditioner ruined everything! It didn't work. The windows didn't open. There was practically no air in the room. The administrator at the restaurant advised me to open the windows, which had never been opened! This is kind of strange!((

The hotel is in a busy square full of atmosphere, a very well-equipped restaurant and cocktail bars; the rooms are modern but somewhat small; You almost attend to yourself (at the reception a check-in machine and at the exit a little box to leave the room card); Zaandam is a town close to Amsterdam with good communication by metro and train, it is a good option because the hotels in Amsterdam seem high in price.

New hotel is very nice, friendly and helpful staff, I highly recommend it especially to the most demanding Italians.Strategic location between Amsterdam and the mills of Zaanse China

The staff were very friendly, had nice views to the Zaandam gate and even though I had booked the smallest room they offered, it was made in a way it felt spacious. Only negative I could find was that the bed was very very cushiony and since Im a very tall and heavy person, made me sink, but still had very good rest. Definitely recommended and would book if I go back for a visit.
