I stayed in room 004. I think it was totally overpriced for a room that you have to leave the main building, that feels like a semi-basement and where you have to keep the curtains closed at all times, otherwise people passing by can see into your room.I checked in late and the night shift seemed a bit overwhelmed with the check-in process.Last but not least, I forgot to put in a voucher code from the company I was working for that was supposed to give me a 10% discount on the room rate. When I mentioned this to the receptionist, she said - supposedly after checking with the management - that there was nothing she could do about it and that my room rate was 10% cheaper than the regular rate anyway because I'd booked online. Very odd.

The hotel double charged me and only partially refunded one charge. I had to reach out proactively and when I pointed out only the partial refund I was treated very rudely by Alexander. The explanation for the partial refund was city taxes but I would have expected at least a full refund of either charge. I have now still have EUR 156 outstanding and was only refunded EUR 117. The difference of nearly 40 EUR cannot be city taxes… it’s a shame as otherwise the hotel was ok…

Great location, close to restaurants, 10 minutes walk from everything: shops, red light district, Anne Frank house, etc…A big thank you to Laurenço for the impeccable service every morning as well as to Leandro for the perfect omelettes!!!Highly recommended!

We chose to stay at the Mercier for our first time in the city expecting a good stay. The location is very convenient but that’s about it. They literally provide no service at all. There’s a different person at the reception each time you call them. No one solves any issues. You have to keep asking for the smallest of things and won’t even get it.We had the suite but there was some repair work going on and had to keep the curtains shut at all times because there was absolutely no privacy with the construction/ repair workers right outside our windows. Not to mention the incessant noise. We left feeling highly disappointed and were very uncomfortable throughout our stay. This is my honest review.

Very pretty hotel in an amazing location! I also was very happy with the customer service. My only issue is that this hotel books some customers in “inside” rooms - meaning that your room has no window or access to the outside. So this was my view outside of room 406. The room is very dark even with all the lights on and you have not enough privacy. They do not tell you when booking if you book an inside room or not so I would inquire when booking to make sure to avoid this room. Other than that, it’s a lovely hotel which I would recommend.

Literally around the corner from Anne Frank’s House, steps from everything! Air Conditioner in our room was amazing, heated bathroom floors, spacious for just my son and I, bathroom had a clawfoot bathtub, huge shower, and everything completely clean! Housekeeping daily, great breakfast which for us was included, and bar is gorgeous! Will admit tho happy they had an elevator which doesn’t have air conditioner yikes! We did the stairs except to arrive and leave due to suitcase! Love it when I’m back most definitely stay there! Highly recommend it!!

My husband and I spent 2 nights here in June. The room was small and had no view but was very nice and clean. The hotel itself is very beautiful and overflowing with personality and retro charm. Everyone was kind and helpful. The best part about it is the location! It's located in the heart of the jordaan district, walking distance to everything, gorgeous streets, but tucked away ever so slightly so also quiet. I WILL be staying here again for my next trip to Amsterdam.

This is a very nice small boutique hotel right by the canal, beautiful neighborhood. It is away from the tourist crowds and yet within walking distance to all the attractions. Management was very responsive to our request and resolved our issue swiftly. The room was very nice. Hotel staff were friendly. Our stays were pleasant.

Had a very good stay at this hotel in recent days. Nicely decorated, good rooms/beds/pillows/shower/toilet/air conditioning. All the staff are very nice and attentive. Very tasty and good breakfast. Quiet street and yet in the middle of the Jordaan. We will definitely come back. We were in a room in the main building and at the back.

Everything excellent, service, location, staff. However, the size of the room leaves a lot to be desired, making the stay uncomfortable. It is not possible to open the suitcase inside the room, as there is no space.

Great location in the middle of old town. This hotel is a quiet eden in the middle of all of the bars and restaurants. It boasts an internal courtyard entry with a fountain, so as soon as you enter through the archway you are away from the crowds. The free breakfast is first class, with an incredible selection. Parking was easy with valet service. For those with mobility issues, be sure to request a room with no stairs (some suites have stairs between the bed and bath).

We had a great time at this hotel until the day I was robbed. I had necklaces that were not worth enough to put in the safe but very sentimental located in a zipped pouch in a zipped toiletry bag and they were stolen by someone who entered our room while we were out one day. It was either a staff member or their rooms are not secure and someone else entered the room while we were gone. Be careful at this hotel if you choose to stay here. After an “investigation” I was told that they didn’t find any evidence of untoward behavior, meaning it was my fault my jewelry was stolen and they would not do anything more about it. Very unfortunate because we really did enjoy the rest of the stay up until that point.The hotel stopped emailing me about the robbery and refused to answer my questions in my last email. I have been very patient and understanding during the “investigation”. The jewelry was not valuable at all, so it is unfortunate that someone decided to steal it from my room. I hope the hotel management keep an eye on their staff because they are not to be trusted and this will most likely happen again since no actions were taken against the perpetrator.I am also very disappointed I was not offered anything from the hotel management. They are okay with their staff stealing and perhaps are participating in the robberies themselves seeing as their only advice was to claim it on insurance instead of actually figuring out who stole my jewelry.They still have not responded to my last email. A stranger going through your personal belongings and taking sentimental jewelry is NOT ok and this hotel clearly does not understand nor care. They know who entered the room, please ask them to return my jewelry, that’s all I want.

I Contacted via telephone several times prior to arrival to this hotel, NEVER ONCE did anyone mention our room would be VERY SMALL, the shower would be in the room rather located in a room with the toilet. The toilet was a foot away from the bed. The bed was suppose to be a king bed, it was two twins pushed together, made up as two twins. To get to our room we had to climb up and down several stairs with our luggage, very difficult. NO HELP offered from the hotel. As for the expensive buffet breakfast, it was horrible!!! Very little offered, two days into our stay we learned we could have special eggs made, which took about 30 minutes to get.. the only good thing I can say about this hotel was it seemed to be clean. I would NOT recommend this to anyone. VERY DISAPPOINTED

IDEAL location very central and quiet but no view! The rooms were dated and some were very small with bathrooms open to the room! No wardrobe or clothes rack in the rooms! Only 4 hangers on a screen! complicated if you spend 4 nights! Very good breakfast! service a little long for the extras!Not very friendly atmosphere at the reception except 2 young women who were very pleasant! The manager Patricia is not very friendly, as is the young man who was at night during my late check-in (midnight following a plane delay) and who persisted in making me pay tourist taxes and breakfast to be able to give me the key ! Besides, I made the reservation for the group of 15 people in November 2023 and I paid everything in advance! I would have greatly appreciated being informed of the increase in the tourist tax before my arrival and not making me pay it! (245€ out of a total of 9500€) My request was flatly refused by Patricia, the manager! Too bad because it leaves a bad impression of the atmosphere of the establishment!

it's a great hotel but they really force you to wait until 4pm to check in. there's only 45 rooms, you'd imagine they'd be able to get the rooms cleaned and ready before 4pm. it's a real pain when the only flights in from my country are at 8am, then we have to wait another half day for a shower.

We stayed 2 nights ,the service was great we were welcomed with smiles from all the staff ,easy check in , the room was very nice and clean, bed was comfortable, the location was perfect,food shopping and sight seeing were all within walking distance, would highly recommend to all travelers.
