There is no hot water even though it is fall.Of course there is no elevator, but the stairs are steep.It's no joke, a woman with a suitcaseIt's impossible to go

AVOID AVOID AVOID.we booked in for 3 nights and after the first night wanted out, after the 2nd night we did leave and booked another hotel for a night.Staff with friends half way through the night laughing and being noisy, but the main thing is my wife being covered in bedbug bites and feeling dirty and uncomfortable, absolutely disgusting hotel, please please AVOID at all costs.I would rather sleep on the benches opposite rather than use this hotel again.ROOM 25 was our room so if you ever have the misfortune of staying here, good luck with that room.

The location is truly perfect if you want the hustle n bustle of Amsterdam. Close to all local amenities. Rooms were clean and tidy but basic only sink and bed in rooms, so don't expect the ritz. Sheets changed daily also Management an staff extremely helpful. 100% would stay again.

Bad attention at the reception, arrogant and reluctant person. The room was small, as was the bathroom, but it served its purpose. Without a doubt the location is why I would recommend this hotel. Excellent area.

Great location. Unfortunately there is nothing more positive. Very loud, cold and damp in the rooms. You get used to the mold and smell surprisingly quickly.

To whomever it must concern: this is a one of a kind experience. But if you are looking for a nice “Amsterdam experience” this is NOT the place. The room itself has a bed, one table, one closet and a lack of air. Walking through the “haunted house” vibe of the staircase is a living nightmare, just wondering if the floor will give out beneath your feet. The unmistakable feeling that someone died here lingers in the walls, and gives a nice accent to the otherwise plague-like vibe of the place. If you can look past unwashed bedsheets and bugs, you may even be able to sleep. However, the desperate attempt at decency by giving you ONE coat hanger seems sad. I would recommend this room as a mild torture chamber for unwilling witnesses, or location scouts for zero-budget hardcore snuff films. At least there is free WiFi?

The worst hotel i ever been to.I I had to say one positive thing it would be that the location is very convenient if you are traveling to Amsterdam as a tourist. But everything else is awful. The employees are rude and not welcoming, I felt like they didn’t want me as a guest from the moment I booked the room. The hotel itself looks like it was straight out of a horror film. It’s very worn down and not pleasant to look at all. The room feels dirty and disgusting. It’s so small and very inconvenient. The bathroom was not cleaned and we found hair at the pillows on the bed. To get to the rooms you have to climb a ridiculous number of stairs, and there is no elevator. The hotel smells disgusting, and the whole vibe felt unsafe and creepy. For the price of three nights I expected a lot more. 2 star hotel? More like 0 stars. Don’t stay here.

Horrible hotel!! To be avoided at all costs, managers who do not know how to take care of their hotel and its customers.Really small room with mildew on the sheets and cushions. The stairs to go up to the fourth floor or the third floor horrible I strongly advise you not to take this hotel!!!!! TO RUN AWAY

My stay at the Continental Hotel was, without a doubt, a memorable experience. The weather in Amsterdam was quite mixed, but the hotel offered just what I expected for what I paid. The room was small, so small that at times I felt like I was living the authentic experience of a prison cell... but in the heart of Amsterdam! 😄Of course, if you like exercise, this is the place for you. My room was at the top of the building, and the access was so narrow that it guaranteed you a good physical workout going up and down those stairs. Not to mention carrying big suitcases! I recommend leaving large luggage at the station and bringing only the essentials, as space is limited.On the other hand, the hotel was impeccably clean and the staff was super nice, always willing to help you with whatever you needed. Plus, the location is perfect: in the heart of Amsterdam, with everything around you, from canal cruises to the famous Red Light District. So if you're looking for something basic, clean and central, this place is for you... and maybe an undercover gym too! 😅

I wasn't supposed to be there, I was in the middle of booking when it turned out that someone had booked the same room at the same time. When I entered, there was a room available and when I finished the reservation it was unavailable, but not because of me.

3 mates and I visited here. Couldn’t ask for much more. Cheap, fresh towels everyday, unreal location. ||However, DO NOT VISIT IF LOOKING FOR ROMANTIC GETAWAY OR WITH FAMILY. ||This is a perfect hotel if you plan on getting drunk / high every night.

Absolutely one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a hotel. This place is a disaster from start to finish. The entire building is dilapidated and filthy, with no signs of upkeep. The windows are practically non-existent, just a single, thin layer of glass that offers zero sound insulation. You can hear every noise from the neighbors—conversations, toilets flushing, doors slamming—making it impossible to get any sleep.We stayed on a weekday, hoping for some quiet, but it was just as loud as a weekend. The constant noise from the drunk people outside, cars, and trams was unbearable, and to make matters worse, the curtains don’t even cover the windows properly. The room was flooded with light all night long. To top it off, we woke up covered in bug bites.The room itself was a safety hazard. The bunk beds were a nightmare—no safety rails, no ladder for one of the beds, and crammed into a tiny space where you could easily fall out and crash into the furniture. The staircase to the room was absurdly steep and narrow, completely unsuitable for anyone with luggage.To add insult to injury, their idea of luggage storage was just leaving your bags in an open area at reception where anyone could walk off with them. We ended up finding a proper locker room a few hundred meters away, but by then, the damage was done.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. The only thing you'll gain from staying here is a ruined trip and a terrible night's sleep.
