I'll start by specifying that I would return for three reasons in particular: quality/price, location and staff. We booked two rooms, a quad and a 5 bed family room.Briefly, the problems were the following: very small beds with the topper on top of the mattress (it would be better to combine it in a single sheet, as it is unstable and risks falling several times), the carpet (in 2024 you can't see it, come on), lack of sockets near the beds and the bathroom rather small. Furthermore, room 5 is located on the -1 floor, the corridor to get there is very narrow, with a bad smell and the ceiling of the room is very low.I would stay here again because the staff is really friendly, the location is very convenient (a stone's throw from Vondelpark and the Van Gogh Museum) and the price for what is offered is ok!P.S. A plus was the free coffee/tea machine in reception: super appreciated!😜

This hotel is not very cheap and the price does not reflect the quality. Extremely small rooms, no complementary shampoo and conditioner, thin walls and best of all a bed bug infestation. Our 3rd and last night I could not stop itching while I tried to sleep and turned on the lights to see multiple bed bugs crawling around in the sheets. I went and told the staff and there was no urgency or surprise on their behalf, they did not offer to give us a new room for our remaining few hours (I spoke with them around 5AM, check out at 11AM) they offered a 50% refund and an insincere apology. I would not recommended this hotel.

A really well located hotel. The museums are all nearby and not too expensive! The only downside was that we had a broken bed and the hotel is next to Vanden Park so when there are lots of mosquitoes…

We spent two nights in this hotel, despite this, the room was cleaned in the morning, there were no bedbugs, a refrigerator, a kettle, two sets of towels for all guests, and there were four of us, two children and parents, we did not use breakfast, since in some cafes this amount can be enough to have a hearty lunch, parking is a problem, in front of the hotel it costs 6 or 7 euros per hour, that’s why we parked the car in another place, but for those without a car, the location of the hotel is great. It was quiet at night, not cold and not hot, room 65 on the first floor, but I guess he’s not the only normal one here, other commentators are just competitors)) the price of the hotel is at the bottom of the market, who would like it besides us?))

I recommend looking for another alternative before choosing this hotel. The photos do not correspond to the website. They accommodated us in a room in the basement where it was very hot and humid, as a solution they offered to lend us a fan that was never provided to us.The window could not be opened, at reception they told us it was because of the mosquitoes, which I think a mosquito net can solve. Because it is necessary to ventilate. We asked to change rooms and they told us it was impossible because they were all occupied. One of the days while placing one of the mattresses we saw a huge blood stain, when we reported it they changed the mattress, but they showed no interest in compensating for the embarrassing moment. The only good thing, the location.

Ok this place is pretty terrible as the other reviews would indicate. We got a room for 3 people and it was in the awkward attic of the building. To enter our room we had to take the elevator, then some steep narrow stairs (with all of our luggage). Thankfully there was a landing in front of our door, but it was immediately atop the stairs, so only the first person could open the door on flat ground, everyone else had to wait on the stairs. Needless to say lots of noise in our room from people going up and down the stairs. No AC so it was always very warm. The bathroom has a pedestal sink so NO space to put anything. The shower is doorless so the entire bathroom floor gets wet. The coffee machine downstairs stopped working after our first night and was not repaired for the duration of our stay (4-days). The only silver lining is there was a lot of stuff we wanted to see that was only a short walk.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel City Garden Amsterdam. The hotel is in great location and the reception staff were friendly enough. The hotel had a vending machine which unfortunately was cash only. Our room was clean, spacious and modern. ||Would happily stay here again
