We spent four days at the Hotel Stranddistel in a de luxe room with a balcony and sea view. Room, bed, breakfast and WiFi were fine. However, the so-called sea view on the second floor requires some imagination. You can see directly over the dike, but the view is limited by the salt oasis on the right and the Hotel Meeresburg on the left. The hotel's location on a busy, cobbled street means there is a lot of traffic noise, especially from regular bus services. The paid parking spaces at the hotel are very narrow, making it difficult to get out of the vehicle after parking. However, the staff kindly point out that the bicycles in the parking lot can be knocked over in gusts of wind as there is no storage or fastening options. Bicycles must be parked in a parking lot closed to cars. Unfortunately, the flexibility of the reception staff was not at its best when it came to a small request: With a scheduled ferry departure at 10:15 a.m., we asked to be able to have breakfast at 7:30 a.m. (instead of 8:00 a.m.). The lady at reception refused saying it was "in the middle of the night". The hotel is not recommended for guests arriving by bicycle. Everyone else should consider alternatives.

We felt very comfortable in the small hotel. It has been beautifully renovated with great attention to detail.Breakfast was very good, pleasantly quiet atmosphere in the breakfast room.The employees were super friendly and very personal.The location is great, we had a room with a sea view 😍

We stayed here for 6 nights and didn't regret it. The room is clean and modern, unfortunately it was small (normal double room). So there was no balcony. Towards the side street and with side. Sea view. The noise of the people who came by there at night, some of them drunk, was a bit disturbing (mainly on Saturdays, unfortunately that's Norderney) because it was the 1st floor and every noise echoed up from the small street.The location of the house is great because it's right around the corner from the center. And opposite the beach and the promenade. What more could you want?We found the door signs “please clean” or “please do not disturb” a bit unfortunate. Because in this house, please do not disturb meant: if you hang it out to have a short period of peace in the morning, no one will come to clean the whole day. Strange. We've never had anything like this before. That's why it had to stay in, and so you were knocked out of the toilet... I would get rid of it.Finally, we would like to mention the brilliant breakfast. We are frequent travelers and can say that this is in no way inferior to a 4-5 star hotel. There was just everything you could want even though the house is so small. Well prepared, great quality, everything is always freshly refilled, and the drinks are also very sufficient. Really really great breakfast. And the breakfast lady with her quick, friendly and discreet manner topped it all. We always enjoyed it for a long time and thoroughly.For that reason alone we would stay here again.We can recommend this house 100%!

The Hotel Stranddistel contributed to making my stay on the island a wonderful one. 👍The renovated rooms are really successful. The vanity in the bathroom is great, the larger TV and a few books (travel guides and novels) are available.The indirect lighting above the bed and also opposite creates coziness and I really liked it.The staff was courteous and very friendly!I missed the buco cream at breakfast, 😉 the dark bread and the scrambled eggs are highly recommended.The location, yes anyway, 😀 perfect - central. I'll be back! 🤩

The Hotel Stranddistel is located close to the North Sea beach, relatively quiet. It was completely renovated at the beginning of the year.The rooms are modern, well furnished. The bathrooms are also new and equipped to a high standard.Room service came when requested, everything was ok.The service at breakfast was very attentive and super friendly!We were very satisfied and felt completely at home!

We really enjoyed our stay in the beautiful Hotel Stranddistel!The large photos with Norderney motifs in the house that accompanied us into the room were particularly elegant.Our room with a balcony was bright, clean, cozy and modernly furnished, the view of the sea and the sunsets were fantastic. The fridge and kettle were useful accessories.The lavish breakfast buffet got the day off to a good start. The competent, friendly staff were happy to fulfill any special requests.The beach and town were within walking distance.We really liked the bicycle parking space behind the house.It was nice to end the day in the in-house sauna.We will be happy to come back and let ourselves be pampered here again!
