Very close to the city of Garmisch. Bus stop, train station, Zugspitzbahn and shops can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes. Parking spaces in the underground car park or on the street. Great garden with a view of the Wetterstein Mountains. Cozy rooms with modern bathrooms. Nice breakfast service. You can only kill someone with normal rolls. They taste sticky and are rock hard. But the brown bread rolls are good. Nice place for holidays in the mountains.

We traveled as a family with one child (8). The reception upon arrival was very friendly. (Closed until 3 p.m.) Everything was explained and shown to us. The hotel has numerous information folders about hikes, restaurants, etc. The lounge is equipped with a large television, seating and glasses, dishes and cutlery. Overall, we had a great stay and would happily recommend the house. We would like to book again for our next stay, but would prefer an overnight stay with half board in town. Half board is much easier and less stressful with children. A restaurant guide for families with children would be helpful. There are enough restaurants in Garmisch and in all price ranges. The spa card is almost useless (local bus) and at 3 euros per day it's not exactly cheap. But the hotel can't do anything about it.

Very clean and well-kept hotel with a beautiful, quiet garden and terraces on the rooms. However, we found it a disadvantage that there are two fixed breakfast times, so you are tied to time. We would also have liked play equipment (e.g. trampoline) for children in the garden.

We came as a family and spent an excellent summer holiday in this very nice and family-friendly hotel.The Handrup couple provided us with excellent tips and information every day. The really nice thing was that the information was always very family-friendly. We were recommended great hiking routes, excursion destinations and gastronomic highlights. For all other questions, such as: E.g.: “Where can you buy functional, good and cheap hiking clothes?” have been answered more than satisfactorily. Last but not least: "Nothing has been left unanswered!" Our children were also very enthusiastic about the Handrup family's two dogs. My daughter loves dogs and my son was extremely afraid of dogs. After our vacation, my son had a changed attitude towards dogs because he was introduced to them very lovingly by the Handrup couple.We can also recommend the sumptuous and varied breakfast. The breakfast is varied and very tasty. The coffee and tea selection is very large.It was one of the most beautiful family holidays I've been able to enjoy in a long time and I'm looking forward to another stay in this beautiful and, above all, very warm hotel.Many thanks to Sarah and Karsten Handrup for the great time!

We are thrilled, the long journey from the north was worth it. Everything very clean. Breakfast was very tasty, everyone was happy to respond to requests and was courteous. Many details are beautifully designed! There is a place to sit outside with tables behind the house. Very nice! We felt very comfortable. Many thanks for the hospitality to all the employees of the Hotel Edelweiß.

A good little hotel. Breakfast is absolutely fine, you can get everything you need. From here you can go on many hikes and excursions. We had a room facing the street which wasn't so good, you can directly feel the traffic noise. The room and bathroom were very spacious. Staff is very committed and friendly.

We're here with our dog and it's always fantastic. Great breakfast, good room and bathroom, very clean. You just have to know in advance that there is no other option for lunch or dinner and that you don't want anyone to cook. But that doesn't have to be the case, there are delicious restaurants in the area.

A beautiful Garni Hotel run by the Bundeswehr Social Works in Garmisch in an ideal location for a skiing holiday (probably for hiking days in the summer too).By car, it only takes 8 minutes to get to the local mountain, 14 minutes to the Kreuzeckbahn or just under 20 minutes to the Zugspitz cable car. In the morning, however, it should be noted that you have to make your way to the local mountain at around 8:15 a.m. in order to get a guaranteed parking space.We booked a classic double room and a junior suite at the hotel for a family of five. Both were spacious, modernly furnished, had one TV per room (the suite had two) and large, modern bathrooms. Each room has a balcony. Apart from the fact that the rooms are a bit noisy, they were very nice.Overall, the hotel was in a very clean and well-maintained condition and would be recommended at any time.Because it is a Garni hotel, there is only breakfast here, but there are a variety of restaurants in Garmisch.Price-performance ratio for the winter holiday season and compared to many surrounding hotels was very good. The total here wasn't exactly low.Nevertheless, again at any time.

Quaint hotel which is very centrally located. All of our hikes started from here, so we didn't need our car.The rooms are clean, cleaned every day and you have everything you need. The breakfast is rich and the scrambled eggs taste delicious. The fully automatic coffee machine allows you to choose heroic different coffees or cocoa. The staff is very friendly and also gives hiking and excursion tips.All in all it was a very nice and relaxing week.Thank you very much, we can do it again 👍
