“The path to the truth leads over the Kösseine.”This quote from Jean Paul may apply to the hike, but not to my experience in the Kösseinehaus. After a beautiful hike, I was looking forward to a pleasant stop, but was disappointed. The currywurst was bland, the fries were soft instead of crispy, and the soup was served cold. The prices were clearly too high for the quality. The service, on the other hand, was friendly and courteous, but that couldn't make up for the poor food.Unfortunately, a visit that is not worth repeating.

We hiked up here knowing that the restaurant operator had changed. Unfortunately, only the menu was promising: the cheese spaetzle was so lacking in taste that one had to doubt the Bavarian taste icon. The goulash had SEVEN PIECES OF MEAT - but even these were poorly seasoned and bland... nothing more needs to be said... the location is awesome and the food is yucky.PS: our table neighbors had cake that probably wasn't even worth one star. So please consider whether you really want to eat here.

The review refers only to the restaurant. Walked up the path and reached the beautiful building. The menu seemed promising, but when the dishes arrived there was great disappointment. The housewife-style herring is very clear and not appropriate for €14 with three delicate strips of herring and maybe 8 small potato cubes and a tablespoon of salad. The Bohemian soup is sparingly dosed and very generously priced at €8. The cheese spaetzle is very plentiful. The coffee tastes good. The service is a bit grumpy but all in all ok. A big drawback is the exclusive cash payment, which in my opinion is no longer up to date and in our case actually definitely halved sales.

Wonderful view, nice service and there is Bönish food and drink. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the rooms, I was only a hiking guest.

The food was terrible. Currywurst with fries tasted terrible. French fries smell of rancid fat. Frozen cake was totally soggy. Inferior quality for too much money.

We were at the Kösseinehaus as part of an ebike tour. There is a good selection of dishes on the menu. Also typical Bohemian dishes, marked by the Czech flag.I had roasted goat cheese on a bed of beetroot. It was very tasty - but it could have been a slice more toast. The view of the Fichtelgebirge and the region is phenomenal when the weather is good! In any case, the efforts of the journey were more than rewarded

My food was delicious, but other people's dishes looked less good. Portions could also be a little larger. In my opinion the prices are a bit too high. I would eat there again if I were hiking up the Kösseine anyway, but I wouldn't go to the Kösseinehaus specifically to eat, for example
