Hotel Hidden

A room for 2 people for 3 nights was booked by telephone, but not in the "hotel" shown on the website but in another accommodation that was priced far below the stated prices, as this accommodation did not offer this level of comfort. This was also discussed on the phone and it was not a special price negotiation but standard. When we arrived, the room had to be cleaned first because the garbage from the previous person was still there. The total price of €125 for 3 nights and 2 people had to be paid immediately. We were lucky to get a receipt. On the first night, a wedding party from (Ghana?) came and woke up the entire house with their natural noise, banging on our door, slamming doors and talking loudly. After almost 5 hours of sleep, our night was already over because this group was up early again and was calling to each other, talking and organizing with the room doors open, including children screaming and running. When you were very annoyed and had little sleep and were asked to please be quieter, this was ignored and the drama continued. Naked men and children were running around in the hallways, the toilets were full of urine and we were harassed with questions and requests because no employee was available to take care of the guests' needs. When we informed the operators about this situation and complained, we were not taken seriously and so we decided not to stay there another night, as this company will be staying there until Monday. We wanted our money back (minus one night) and we were refused! Suddenly the prices for these “flophouses” doubled for the night. Furthermore, this accommodation was supposed to be fully booked, which was also not true. Because that was his argument for not paying us back our money. No concession was expected from him. We were even willing to pay a higher price for half the night. This was also rejected and so we had no choice but to contact our lawyer and ask for advice. We then decided to take legal action together because the behavior was more than unfair and outrageous. The accommodation we got is not even offered by the operator on its website and was therefore never part of our agreements! In hindsight we know why, because this "accommodation" is really below any level of a hostel, which offers even better service and facilities in the city. Conclusion: Definitely not recommended. There is no emergency support, complaints are not taken seriously and goodwill is not exercised, which gives the impression that these "people" are only interested in sales and not in service. Our case is now with the lawyer and the costs will more than exceed the actual amount in dispute, but unfortunately at the expense of the operator. We cannot recommend these operators and advise against booking.
