We once again spent a little time out in the Heideschmiede. Like every time before, everything was as you would hope for in accommodation in such beautiful surroundings. There was nothing to complain about and we will definitely come back more often. R. and Dr.C-H. H

Nice little hotel a little away from the town center, but still within walking distance. The room was clean and charmingly decorated. The service at the rich breakfast buffet was top. What bothered us was that someone was in the room during the day to clean, even though we hadn't put up the sign for this. As a result, I had to dig some of my things out from under the bed because they fell down while making the bed or were in another corner of the room. What was particularly great was the garbage bag I had forgotten in my suitcase. A bell at reception would also be nice.

A very quiet place. Cozy room and comfortable beds. The bathroom is old but ok. There is a lack of more storage space and the shower needs a thorough cleaning. Breakfast is varied and available from 8am. …

The room was clean, but with terrible furniture that was probably 50 years old. I found the hostess really difficult. Always a saying on the lips and often at the expense of the guest, who is probably not the focus here.

Accommodation is fine. Breakfast with lots of room for improvement. For example, eggs were not enough for all guests, sausage and cheese were very sparse, bread was dry and already a few days old. …

We - two adults, 1 dog - had booked the accommodation for 2 nights as part of our hike on the Heidschnuckenweg and we didn't feel very welcome there with our dog.The welcome was initially friendly, but we were quickly instructed in the rules of behavior for the dog in the breakfast room (“If the dog is not trained, it will be sent to the room”). This was followed by various anecdotes in which the dogs failed to behave. The feeling was conveyed that our dog was an evil that unfortunately had to be tolerated in the house. As soon as we arrived (around 4 p.m.) the house was locked and we were left to our own devices. A moderately stocked refrigerator (water, beer, wine - all in small quantities) provided us with the essentials, but was not refilled on both days.Breakfast started at 8:00am but it wasn't ready until 8:15am so we had to wait. The buffet was okay, but here too it was only filled to a minimum. Croissants were baked for certain guests, but there were none for us. Service friendly, but only upon request (“Can we get some more coffee please?”)There was a very unpleasant situation when checking out because our dog apparently left a paw print on the bed sheet despite having brought his own blanket. We were asked very unpleasantly how we would like to compensate for this. The extra fee that is charged for the dog anyway would not be enough. Our suggestion was not accepted, but no counter-proposal was made and instead we were accused of thinking about not allowing dogs in the future. In our opinion the best idea for this 'warm' house. All in all, we have the feeling that restaurateurs here don't operate out of passion but only for the money. We won't be coming back.
