Newly renovated room(s), old dining room, hardly any breakfast buffet... generally poor price/performance ratio (at the price we booked).

The price-performance level is simply not right.We were there to spend the night after a hike. The inn was only partially renovated, unfortunately the impression in the pictures was misleading. The rooms have been completely renovated, so there is nothing to complain about. However, the hallways and the dining area are still in their old, dusty condition. The contrast somehow didn't seem right to us and we didn't feel comfortable.Given the moderate price, I wouldn't criticize it at all, but for €183 a night you can expect a lot more.As a guest, it feels like you are paying for the entire renovation of the rooms.In addition, the breakfast was very sparse. The breakfast room was completely dark, the window was covered so that no light came in. The reality is very far from the overexposed images.Therefore, there is unfortunately no recommendation for this accommodation.

Today we were in the restaurant and I can say it was one of the best foods I have eaten in Baden Baden area… the team was really kind and friendly, food was really delicious ( we tried the steak and fish with special mashroom they had) and last but not least there was a cute cat which hosted us so great🥹…I am sure no one will regret if u go there ☺️❤️

Booked via booking and upon arrival it was explained that we had overbooked and had to pay a higher price for a "room upgrade", which was not an upgrade but corresponded to the booking.Old boss relatively unfriendly and doesn't respond to guests.Rooms still clean and in order.Dinner tasted ok but completely overpriced. The younger waitress at the inn was friendly but totally intimidated by her boss.Beer was emptied from two glasses together and when asked: we always do that because otherwise it foams!Breakfast poor: little choice. dirty dishes.Moldy yogurt. Cold breakfast eggs.Conclusion: 2 people for 125€/night, I got a lot more for half the price.Definitely won't be coming back and won't recommend it

Amazing! Room was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked fantastic. Bed and bedding were very comfy. Owner was friendly and personally showed us to our room. We were on the top floor. I forgot to look if the hotel had an elevator. My fault, no elevator. We had to carry our bags up to the top floor. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Cappuccino was one of the best I have ever had and we just returned from 13 days in Italy. Two beautiful hotel cats. One reminded us of our baby boy. Thank you !

An old country inn with newly renovated rooms. Laminate flooring, clean, very well maintained and a walk-in shower. The breakfast buffet was small but tasty.

Wonderful, charming family run hotel! Beautifully renovated room in an old building from 1864 with a lot of character and charm. Very nice and attentive proprietor offering the kind of service you can't find in any chain hotels. Very close to Gengenbach, a stunning town worthy of a full day's visit or longer.

I was a bit skeptical based on existing reviews.My personal experiences have been consistently positive.The boss is very loving and has a courteous staff.The breakfast buffet is good and sufficiently laid out.In the restaurant in the evening the liver was exceptionally good. The cordon bleu and the spaetzle were also very tasty.Many thanks to Gasthof Kranz for the entire stay!

An excellent accommodation.We were there for 4 days with a group of regulars.The owner and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.Rooms are clean and the bathrooms renovated.There were lots of good excursion tips for us.The breakfast is varied and available in sufficient quantities. Everything will be delivered as quickly as possible.We would love to come back. ❤️

The landlady is very enthusiastic. The overall decoration is very stylish and you can feel the boss's enthusiasm. Although there are not many choices for breakfast, it is acceptable. Overall not bad.
