Unbearably unnecessarily hot and loud.The building has been poorly remodeled and is hot and noisy. The rooms face south and onto a fairly busy side street. Even after a summer heat wave ends, the rooms remain uninhabitably hot and stuffy. One ventilation system (the one for the main building) is out, the dehumidification of the bathrooms cleverly has the fan centrally located, and because it is dirty, it doesn't work well. The ventilation system does not ventilate the rooms. The rooms have large windows, only a small part of which can be opened, in corner rooms often not the ones opposite. When the windows are open, the windows that tilt open at the bottom reflect conversations and car rentals directly into the rooms.Rooms downstairs that are difficult to ventilate are occupied, but the rooms in the tower, which are easy to ventilate, are empty.The JH could handle heat better through minimal manual intervention in the controls. I suspect at other times the rooms are stuffy too.We are regularly in Chemnitz and will avoid this JH from now on.

In the lounge area there is also space for smaller events next to the hostel. I was there for my wine dealer's wine presentation, great. 😃.

I really enjoyed my stay in the youth hostel.I would like to point out two small things.I was missing a refrigerator and an inconsequential disposable toothbrush cup.Otherwise I was extremely satisfied.

Very good and quiet location right in the city center. Pleasant atmosphere, spacious rooms and friendly staff. Unfortunately there are no parking spaces available.

Simply outrageous, I came to the hospital and couldn't pick up my things from the room. I asked them to please send them by post. All my valuable things were missing, including a Louis Vuitton belt

Rooms were okay so far, there was a bit of dirt in some corners. Unfortunately also in the showers and toilets.There were three of us with a dog and we had a 9-bed room to ourselves.Breakfast was okay.Reception was great.In any case, I would recommend it. However, I would only stay there with a dog in the warm months (you can eat outside), as animals are not allowed in the dining room. Unless the dog stays quiet and alone in the room. Since we were only there for three days, we didn't have much time to explore everything in the youth hostel. But our son really liked the table tennis tables. But Chemnitz is definitely worth a visit...We go there about every two years because relatives live there.

The youth hostel is a good place to stay overnight for a short trip. The location is very good, right in the center of Chemnitz, the staff is very nice and the hostel is also beautifully designed inside.The beds were ok, as I said, enough for a short trip, the room was clean, the smell was that they didn't skimp on using chlorine cleaner, and it was just big enough for 4 beds.The breakfast buffet was really good for a youth hostel and had everything you needed in the morning.If it's possible again, I would stay there again.

A modern, really nice hostel with the best breakfast I've ever seen in a hostel! Many hotels absolutely cannot keep up with this varied breakfast! What I personally found to be a drawback: everything is super isolated, I had the feeling of being in a hermetically sealed room into which no oxygen could come. Of course you can open a window, but at least in the rooms at the back everyone can get in.

Basically a very solid hostel; very centrally located.Stable WiFi throughout the house (not always a given for DJHs)I initially had a perfectly acceptable room on the 4th floor. When I extended after 3 days, I unfortunately had to leave it and go to one on the 1st floor. These rooms on the first 2 floors do not have a proper window; but just a small one that can only be tilted electronically a small gap; that also downwards and outwards. You can see it in the photos of the entrance area. Located to the south and with a large glass front, the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors often have a stuffy 30 degrees in the room, very unpleasant.
