I've been traveling with family for many years,8 people, to Borkum and also to the Hotel Miramar at any time of the year.We were always very satisfied. Above all, the staff at Miramar were always very friendly and there were never any problems with bookings.Through a change in personnel(see new managing director) it's comingbut according to my first impressionnegative influences that affect me asgive long-standing customers something to think about.The new managing director is trying to get involveda butt to ride on 4/5 horses.(see 5 hotels at the same time business guide)The following happened:On September 26th I personally went to reception and asked a long-time employee about free times for 4 double rooms in 2025.The employee also gave me prices for the different room categories.On Sunday September 29, 24 I asked themsame room by email and asked for an offer and reservation. But now I was quoted completely different prices, which were significantly higher.When I asked, I got the explanation from the new managing director:The process is not only common at the Hotel Miramar. The prices could change not only daily/hourly but also every secondchange. For me as a customer/hotel guest, this is incomprehensible and also dubious!What should you rely on when booking?!Something like that existed with the old management at the Hotel Miramarnot in the past 10 years.I see other people behave like thatHotels (such as 4-seasons/North Sea hotel)never experienced on Borkum.I can recommend it to anyone who is considering hotels on Borkum.Do not recommend the Hotel Miramar.The previous reliability of the management is no longer present!👎

Run-down room, bathroom half renovated, swimming pool dirty, sauna (very outdated!) only after registration, reception staff permanently on the PC, breakfast ok, scrambled eggs and pancakes unfortunately cold.Carpet hotel entrance and stairwell very dirty, strong smell in the entrance/hallway (cigarette/chlorine)Unfortunately there was also smoking right in front of the hotel entrance.The location is great but the rest, especially the price, is very disproportionate. A second visit is out of the question for us.

Absolutely disappointing! The hotel is not only outdated, but downright run down. We had to request our guest cards three times and only received them on the day of departure. The sauna can only be used with prior notice, which is very inflexible. I can only advise against the swimming pool - after a single dive I had watery eyes for 30 minutes and even two days later they were still red. Another guest had the same problem. The chemicals in the water are extremely harmful to health and are clearly not properly controlled. Very worrying, never again!

The hotel is getting really old. The furniture is very old. In a smaller part of the rooms you can see the sea. The price-performance ratio is no longer right.

I have been booking the Miramar for almost 8 years because I travel to the island for work.The hotel has a great location for the beach.The hotel is of course older, but that's why it has charm. The whole hotel is very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You wouldn't expect an indoor pool of this category in the hotel, great!👍 There is a bar and a restaurant with great cuisine. The breakfast is great, nothing is missing for me. You wouldn't have breakfast like that at home. Sauna and parking space are available. On the top floor there is a huge living room for guests, with cold drinks from the fridge bar.The elevator is in progress and will be coming soon...

Nice hotel on the beach! The sea water pool is great and we slept very well because of the high quality mattresses. The balcony was also great and the excellent breakfast left nothing to be desired.

A bit old, we had a room with a sea view on the 2nd floor. 1st floor, unfortunately there was no elevator. However, they were kind enough to carry our luggage up for us. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant or at breakfast. But it wasn't a problem for us. Room service was friendly, I just wonder why you only got thin, threadbare towels for the last day and the soaking wet shower mat wasn't changed anymore...Otherwise everything is nice, just a little 70s. For 230 euros a night I would have expected more.

I stayed at Miramar for a long weekend.The hotel is a bit old, but clean and not worn out.My room was relatively small, which didn't bother me for the short time since I was almost only there to sleep anyway. However, for me personally it wouldn't have been suitable for a longer stay.The bathroom was also older, the shower had been replaced and was good.The breakfast was very good, everything was available and tasty!There is an indoor swimming pool in the house, but I didn't use it.The view from the lounge above is beautiful. You can look at the dunes and the sea. But something needs to be done. There is a bunch of furniture there - and we have it in my room too. That's not inviting in my opinion. But as mentioned, it is also clean and in order.There is a fridge in the lounge with a good selection of drinks - very good!The staff was friendly.Overall a recommendation.

A very well organized house, when is right on the beach with a beautiful view, but also quickly in town. Meetings can also be held here in large and small, very well-maintained houses.

The hotel right on the promenade is a bit older, but the rooms are top, the service is great and the location is perfect. We've just been here for 4 days and feel completely at home. Highly recommended. The breakfast buffet is extensive and there is something for everyone. The location is quiet and you feel comfortable right from the start.... we'll be back... Michl and Bianca

It's been in need of renovation for years, but nothing has happened yet. Sure, the vacationers still come after all.Update: Since my comments were not taken seriously either on site or here in the rating, but were simply downplayed, the rating changed from 2 to 1 star.Be happy about this beautiful location, you would have a hard time on the mainland. I wish you all the best.

Best location. Some rooms have a lake view and a balcony. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice, not standard. Hotel a bit old-fashioned but very quaint. Staff sometimes a bit overwhelmed, but friendly. Rooms could be cleaner.

Unfortunately, after a strong storm it destroyed our tent.Finding accommodation on an island at 9 p.m. is very difficult in high season.Thank God we found what we were looking for here. We got two nice single rooms with balconies, which was very nice!All the employees were absolutely great and very friendly! The breakfast was very rich and good.I'd love to play volleyball again next year.
