Poorly staffed, but clean and the location is great.

Before we decided to write this review, we also read others. What they all had in common was the word “flophouse” and we would definitely agree with that. We arrived without great expectations or demands, but these were also exceeded. After initially being unable to find any employees, after checking the reservations we were informed that ours could not be found. When I showed the reservation confirmation, we were informed that it had also been found in the system, but that the room we had booked was no longer available. We were then given an ultimatum. Either we get a small room in the attic or they would have to cancel other guests who have also booked a room. We were informed several times that the other guests would unfortunately have to be canceled if we didn't spend the night in the attic room. Of course, the first thought was that this was absolutely not our problem, but we were selfless enough to accept the attic for a nice gesture and a potential back injury. Consequently, we were shown our suite, which consisted of two folding beds and was approximately 4m2 in size. You could completely forget about standing upright here. When it came to the price, we were of course offered a discount. Anything else would have been a complete impudence. But the initially offered price of €50 per night was actually a bad joke. Ultimately we agreed on a total of €80, but that was because we simply had no other option for sleeping and were in a hurry. Under other circumstances, we would have turned around at that price and walked straight out the door, hitting our heads on it. The shower and toilet were fine. Overall, the stay was characterized by the shameless behavior of the owner. And we learned one thing: a reservation (with payment already made!!!) means absolutely nothing. We were able to save money on our visit to Konstanz, but the idea that we would have originally paid €210 for this accommodation makes us feel very bad. At the end of this review it is particularly important to us to emphasize again WHAT an imposition the “beds” were. The location is therefore the only thing you benefit from when staying in this guesthouse.

The hotel is old. The beds are comfortable. There is no toilet in the room.

Very nice hotel/pension. You have everything you need and it's also very clean. In addition, the owner was incredibly friendly and really responded to my every need.Hotel is in a perfect location. The lake can be reached in a few minutes on foot. Train station in the immediate vicinity. For the price and the location of the hotel (you are practically in the middle of the action) we were satisfied. You shouldn't expect luxury here, but the rooms and toilet/shower were always clean. Recommended for those on a budget, we only stayed here to sleep.

Two terrible words: bed bugs.Soon after we entered our room, we noticed bed bugs in the bed. The reception was not staffed, so we immediately called the owner/ manager, who, to his merit, immediately came to the hotel (5-10min) and offered us another room, ensuring it is just an isolated problem of just one room. We accepted to stay just because it was late, and it would have been difficult to find another structure at that time of the day on Saturday. We entered the second room, frantically searched the new beds, and apparently could not find any bed bugs. Later we went to bed, and a couple of hours into the night, we started to get bitten and realized the nightmare is continuing. There were bed bugs here as well. It was a terrible night with no rest... I am not even going to start on all the worries and the effort we had to do to avoid taking the bed bugs with us home... had everything washed and dry-cleaned professionally before we entered the house, just imagine the money and time wasted.What can I say? Worst nightmare for a traveller.All other aspect of the hotel became irrelevant. The owner tried overall to be nice, and refunded us immediately, but still, our trip was more than ruined.

Clean and cozy hotel walking distance from Konstanz station, bus stop. The hotel situated in the heart of the town, good for family, friendly staff. There are many resturants nearby and a shopping mall with movie theater next to it. Kids would love the place, there are activities for them also. Bring your summer dress and swiming costume to enjoy lake Konstanz. Konstanz Hafen is just accross the road. A very happening place. There are couple of indian resturants nearby also. Summer was quite hot, you might have to keep the windows open, and would be little noisy till midnight accross the streets.

Nice little guesthouse with very nice hosts in the middle of Konstanz with a view of the lake. Everything you need is within walking distance. The rooms are clean and sufficiently large. The sanitary facilities are always clean. WiFi and TV also work. What more could you want!?!

Way too expensive for such a bad hotel!! Broken things in the room e.g. bed, television and closet. The receptionist just wanted to collect and we had to look for the room ourselves. Everyone used one toilet and one shower which is totally unhygienic. Getting a room like this for €130 is a shame.

The location was amazing. The rooms were simply decorated and small but very clean. The rooms were hot during the day but you could open a window and a fan was provided and the room cooled down quickly during the night. There were no shower or toilet in the room they were outside in the hallway. The showers and toilets were clean and pleasant. The check in times were limited however. Definently recommend for cheap but nice night
