We stayed at the Hotel Bergfried for 6 days with our Labrador dog. And it was almost perfect!The hotel is slightly elevated with a beautiful view and on the other side right next to the forest, perfect for walks and hikes.The food in the evening was very, very good every day and definitely worthy of a star, and the breakfast, too, could have been a little more varied - it was the same every day.The staff is super friendly to people and dogs and is always willing to help - great!Unfortunately, our room was a bit smaller but was new and modern and equipped with everything we needed. The cleaning fairies did a great job every day and it was always clean - which isn't easy with a dog :)There is plenty of space for the dogs to play and run around on the property as well as a swimming pond (really great) and, above all, a room with a shower and towels (really, really great)!We were super satisfied and will definitely come back.

Garden suite completely modernly furnished. A paradise for dogs and their owners. Great agility place, dog shower and dog menus. Our visit was definitely not the last time. Great owner and loving service. Food excellent.

A place that strengthens the relationship between dogs and humans!Our third stay in 2024 was again very relaxing and relaxing, a big thank you to the whole team!The stay for 2025 is already booked!The dog can go on vacation and the person accompanies him and is led to completely new positive experiences!Service friendly and competent!4 course menu with a choice of 3 main courses, all served at the table!My wife thought the food was excellent!I consider you to be correctly judged in the upper range of a good kitchen!Dog or dogs are allowed into the restaurant, always at the same table during their stay!

The Bergfried dog hotel is very nice for people and dogs. From the hotel you can go hiking and by car you can do a lot of things in the area. Here not only the bed is made by people in the morning but also by the dog. We felt very comfortable. The four-course menu is a dream, everything is prepared fresh and in-house with a lot of creativity. It's also very nice that you can choose the food using the slips of paper.

We stayed at Hotel Bergfried for 5 days with our 4 dogs and we really enjoyed it. The rooms are super nice, the service is great and everyone is very nice and accommodating. The food is absolute madness. This hotel is completely designed for dogs. A basket and bowls in every room. The outside area is great for the dogs and made with a lot of love.The only thing we were a little sad about was that there was no coffee machine in the room. However, after getting up we were able to go down to the restaurant and get a pot of coffee ❤️We can fully recommend the Hotel Bergfried to all owners. It's worth it 😊

A first-class dog hotel with a fenced run, swimming pond, agility area, extra kitchen with fridge and freezer for dog food, dog shower with enough towels, dog waste bags, shop with dog food and accessories.We had booked a garden suite: two rooms with a balcony and a fenced-in garden area.The bathroom: a dream with a rain shower and bathtub!The food was also excellent and plentiful.Our dog really enjoyed the vacation. And we humans were also completely satisfied; the next stay is already booked.

Great hotel in a unique location with a great view and lots of fun for the dogs. There are several demarcated areas, including a pool and an adventure park or just a playground, where there are various seating options, also with parasols and shade, both by the pool and on the playground. Very tasty food and great ambience. Absolutely clean and highly recommended.

We spent three nights there.It was our first vacation in a dog hotel.The service was very good and the waitresses were super friendly.The dinner was really delicious, fine cuisine and tasted like a dream.For breakfast, a fully automatic coffee machine would have been more pleasant instead of a thermos flask with coffee.The sugar shakers on the tables were a little dirty inside, which can happen, but three days in a row, you should see something like that.Now to the outdoor area:The swimming pond for the dogs was also very nice, only some of the loungers were a little old and needed to be replaced.Also some of the umbrellas.Some items in the dog park are worn out and could be repaired or replaced.The surrounding area is very nice for hiking.Nevertheless, it was a nice vacation and we met very nice dogs and their owners.

To top it off, my wife got bad food for her coffee. We were told that this could happen. Yes, it can happen, but it shouldn't. We were so annoyed that we left early.

Are very positively surprised. The house is very clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The dog can run freely a lot without having to be afraid. Everything fenced. Wellness can be booked and the dog trainer was also able to help us. The food is delicious and prepared like in a star restaurant. I have never had such a relaxing holiday. Even our two teenagers really enjoyed it. We will come again. Thank you very much

The Naturhundehotel Bergfried is a dream for people and dogs! It is located directly on the Schwarzwihrberg natural forest reserve. Some hiking trails start directly from the hotel. The hotel complex with the dog bathing pond, the agility and adventure area is well maintained and great for dogs. There are seats and parasols everywhere for owners and mistresses. My single room was small, but comfortable, clean, with air conditioning and a balcony with a wonderful view!!!The service in the restaurant and the cleaning staff were always nice and friendly!It was a wonderful, relaxing vacation for me and the dogs!

I hesitated to write a review for a long time because for me this dog hotel is a jewel among dog hotels.I wanted to keep this insider tip to myself because I'm afraid it will be even more difficult to get a room.Where should I start?I'll start with the hoteliers and the entire crew (rooms, kitchen, service, garden, entertainment committee such as the hiking guide, etc...). I found the interaction extremely pleasant. You can tell that the team gets along well - needs to get along, otherwise everything wouldn't work so smoothly behind the scenes. The hike with the guide (hike...) - a real unique experience - was entertaining and very beautiful.The rooms (we can judge 2 different ones because we stayed there once over Christmas and once in early summer) are very tastefully decorated and are kept very carefully clean by the cleaning team.There are some fenced areas on the site so that you/dog can stay out of each other's way if necessary.There is a refrigerator with various cold drinks on the area around the lake. Tally lists are kept on a trust basis in which you register when you use something.The kitchen is very good. Since we always cook ourselves and to a high standard at home, this is very important to us. The breakfast is very rich. At lunchtime you can get cake if you want and in the evening it's a dream. I managed to gain 2kg in a week.With the dogs you can go on beautiful hikes in the surrounding forest/area.We were guests there for the first time last year over Christmas. They were wonderful days and Christmas was celebrated very beautifully. We recommend.In early summer, the vacation was very relaxing for us and we were able to relax from our work stress in a very short time.For the dogs there is a large bathroom in which there is enough space for 3 Scottish Deerhounds to shower and dry off.Even dog towels are provided.Over the last 14 years we have gotten to know all the dog hotels or “so-called dog-friendly” hotels in Germany/Austria and South Tyrol.The keep deserves 6 out of 5 starsWe are really looking forward to our next vacation in the BergfriedPictures to follow 😊
