Absolutely unique! The location on the Vils, the loving design of the entire house, the perfectly thought-out rooms, the unusually friendly people who work here... And of course the phenomenal "gourmet breakfast" that deserves its name: everything tasty, homemade, healthy and something special. Amberg is very beautiful, and the “boathouse” fits it ❤️

Dear boathouse team, I never write reviews but now I have to. I'm thrilled! Beautiful, stylish rooms, attentive staff, excellent dinner and a wonderful breakfast made our stay such a lovely one. We were personally greeted by the young, friendly boss. You can feel here that the hostess and her team offer their guests a wonderful and charming hotel with love and passion. Thank you for the lovely experience.

This is the most beautiful hotel I have ever booked. This hotel thrives on each of its employees. The reception from the boss to the friendly greeting of all employees is fantastic. Eating in the restaurant is pure enjoyment. The employees are also just great. The breakfast was a delight. All in all I can only recommend it. Will definitely come again. Thanks for the nice time. It's a good thing that the boathouse is 2 hours away from us, otherwise we would be guests here every week and I would need a size larger in my pants:- Snack happiness in a glass - very good- Fried salmon trout fillet - very good- Rocket pressed dumplings - very good- Homemade crispy bread - addictive!... It's a shame that it's so far away from us, but a reason to visit Amberg again!

The hotel is generally very nice. The rooms and the service too. However, the breakfast system was a bit too complicated and a bit too expensive for us, but that didn't have a major impact on our stay.

The boathouse in Amberg is an absolute must for every visit to the city! The food was excellent, the service was great and the atmosphere by the water was simply fantastic. We'll definitely be back!

Basically, we really enjoy going to the boathouse! Great location with delicious coffee and cake. However, we have now noticed again and again (even today) that when clearing the tables, the service staff do not touch used glasses at the bottom (as they should) but at the top at the edge, which is simply unhygienic. At a place like the boathouse, I expect the service to be appropriately trained and to work hygienically.

We were there for dinner today. We actually wanted to have a romantic dinner! Far from it! The tables are as close together as in a canteen.And the food. Well...unfortunately I can't rave about it. The spinach dumplings are super dry. Good thing I had a side salad to dip the dumplings in the salad dressing.My husband's pike perch was swimming in a soup bowl in the broth of the other ingredients.I imagined the whole thing to be a little more refined!Was it because of the lack of tips or simply because of the hectic pace that the waitress didn't even say thank you for paying the bill.Sorry, but it wasn't mine or my husband's.
