A great hotel in the old town of Regensburg. The substance of the historic walls has been preserved and professionally restored. My heart breaks when it works so well. The view of the Stone Bridge is from room 21 on the 2nd floor. We'll be back!

I grew up in Regensburg and found it inspiring to be able to spend the night in these old walls on the stone bridge. To be honest, I didn't even know the history of the old chapel of St. George from the 12th century, where merchants once took communion before crossing the Danube and which was later converted into a residential building and extended. The building has been carefully renovated and is very atmospheric. However, you shouldn't expect an elevator there. Those looking for wellness can find a sauna in the connected Hotel Goliath. In any case, I hope I can go there again and try out the view from another floor.

Great service in both hotels.Since there is no elevator in the listed building, our suitcases were brought to our room in the Hotel David from the reception at the Hotel Goliath.

Wouldn't vacation there again.The rooms are generally quite okay and the historic building gives additional flair, although not equally throughout the entire house.While some rooms have a luxurious free-standing bathtub and the path to the room through the old building is already stylishly designed, others enter the building through a not very charming back door right between the garbage cans and don't even have space inside for a shower cubicle or a curtain and a seat the small bathroom inevitably floods with water when showering.The price is high for both types of rooms and, at least in one case, definitely does not correspond to the performance - it is better not to gamble on which room you get.It's better not to open the windows, as it can be quite loud in the summer from the bar on the ground floor, but also because of the insects. The nearby Danube attracts mosquitoes and these in turn attract many spiders, both of which enter the room in large numbers through the old double windows even when they are closed.The breakfast is good, but you have to go to the neighboring Hotel Goliath, where you can also use the reception.You can certainly stay better and cheaper in Regensburg.

If you want to live in a very rustic old building in the middle of the city directly on the Danube, this is the right place for you. This was our second time at the David and we really enjoyed our stay in the lovingly furnished room. The furniture, lamps and exposed wall paintings create a very special atmosphere. Room 23 is very quiet and has a view of the Danube. Unfortunately you can only open the window very wide and you have to be careful not to bump yourself when you get out of bed. But otherwise everything was fine.

Room 12 is not recommended. Unfortunately we were given a very small, unpleasant room. The house is very beautiful and stylish. The room, on the other hand, is cramped, carelessly furnished and the view is of the fire escape. Unfortunately, the curtains don't block out any light, which means it gets warm very quickly. People walked past in the bathroom and the process is hanging over the toilet. I would avoid this room if booking.

Small room, no larger mirror. 1 single hook for towels in the 2 bed room. No elevator. No parking spaces in the surrounding area. The service staff was very friendly and competent!

I couldn't imagine a better hotel. Also in terms of price x performance ratio.The ambience is enchanting, the bathtub (if you get a room like that) is like something out of a movie.What I would really recommend the hotel to do is make the history a little more accessible.I had to talk to a lot of people and read a few newspaper articles to find out that this house dates back to the 12th century and was initially blessed as a chapel by a pope. You would have to know a little more about the history of the city to really enjoy it. But even without it it's a great experience!

Perfect location, and the rooms combine perfectly old style and modern comfort. Having to check in and out on the nearby hotel Goliat is a little inconvenient. Breakfast was excellent.No lift, so not the ideal choice for those with limited mobility.
