Unfortunately there is no option to give no star at all, because that's exactly what I would want to do here. I'm not a fan of very bad reviews, but after this experience we had with the holiday apartment "Am Waltenberg 59A", I don't want others to have the same experience. The apartment is rented by Brink Appartment. The pictures on the internet are not up to date. The apartment is not habitable. Black mold in the window frames and on the walls in hidden places (including behind the nightstand and bed) and dust and dirt everywhere. The apartment was only superficially cleaned, no close inspection was carried out and defects were not remedied (including a rusting radiator that could not be turned off). The only person who could be reached on the phone number was a kind of caretaker, who came immediately but couldn't clarify anything. A call to Mr. Brink in the Netherlands yielded a very unsatisfactory result. We were offered a cleaning, but it wouldn't have been possible in a reasonable time, not to mention the mold. With 3 children there, including a 1 1/2 year old toddler, all of this was absolutely unacceptable. Staying in the apartment during possible cleaning would not have been possible due to its size. The apartment is offered for up to 6 people, but in my opinion it is absolutely not suitable for that. The sofa bed, which was dirty when pulled out, would not be suitable for 2 adults. Apart from the rest of the apartment, 6 people couldn't sit at the table normally. If you look closely you can also see this in the photos in the ad. These are just a few shortcomings of the apartment, there were other shortcomings. The landlord didn't offer us an alternative (after all, the apartment was clean), let alone refund the costs. So far we have only been reimbursed for the costs of cleaning, towels, deposit and spa fee. There was no way we could stay there and we communicated that. It's a real shame for such a great vacation spot like Winterberg.

I booked a room for a weekend through Booking.com. When booking, cleaning was clearly declared as included. This was listed separately on the hotel bill. I asked the hotel in writing why this was the case. There was no response, just a cancellation.When I asked on the phone I was rudely told that I don't care, we get 20 requests for our rooms every day. The managing director apparently doesn't use the word customer service. It's better to book somewhere else where the owners are happy for guests to come.

Well located, everything is accessible by car, bicycle or on foot and for what you get, it's a great price

Apartment spacious and modern. Bedroom with bunk bed too small.
