We are visiting the guesthouse for what feels like the 20th time as accommodation for our annual men's cross-country skiing tour.The location in nature is unique, the rooms are clean and stylishly furnished, the bed is comfortable, everything from the bathroom to the WiFi is in great condition.The restaurant is large, bright and yet homely, the Thuringian Rostbrätel are legendary and the new waitress is so charming that we drank more of the good draft beer from Dingsleben than planned.The breakfast is normal home cooking and the prices are absolutely fair.We also appreciate the accessibility by public transport. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the bus on Rennsteig.We are ready for the next 20 years and wish the innkeepers health and perseverance!

We came specifically because we wanted to have a relaxing day, use the wellness area, have something to eat in the hotel, then go to the room and end the evening. Make a nice breakfast the next day and go home. The whole thing was a birthday present. The anticipation was quickly gone when the boss said that the wellness area was closed due to energy costs etc....Ok, that's also due to the global economy at the moment.So we were allowed to go to Suhl, eat there and go to the swimming pool there. Because what do you want to do all day in a hotel where everything is closed? You could have noted on the homepage that the wellness area is closed, then we would have gone somewhere else. This point was decisive for the hotel visit. We also chose the hotel because of the other reviews. Unfortunately, I can't understand all the reviews now. Are they all writing about a different hotel???On the whole we were in good hands. But the reason for the visit fell through completely. If you're looking forward to escaping everyday life and then don't get the service you're getting, it's twice as bad as if you're just passing through to spend the night.....

A very nice little hotel, furnished with a lot of love and taste. The outdoor area is also beautifully designed and there is a lot to discover.We can recommend it with a clear conscience and will definitely come back. Thank you for the good hospitality.

Beautifully landscaped small park with a rabbit island, squirrel enclosure, goldfish and trout pond...We were only there for dinner.Tasty and delicious food.Friendly staff.Portions could be a little larger and the sumptuous salad could definitely be served on a separate plate.

Very nice restaurant, outside with a nice view of the forest and the pond. Very friendly service, even when it was actually closed, we still got something to drink. Our dog also got water. Smaller menu but everything was recommended.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. Fuzzy Kiba. After complaining, we were given an open bottle of banana juice and told that we should please mix it ourselves. Some of the food was cold and arrived late. The salt was clumped, the cutlery was incomplete, Worchester sauce was sticky and the wrong drink sizes were brought. All in all just bad. Shame about the money.Addendum to the owner's comment:That's an absolute disgrace. We didn't order anything, just our regular food! And I am very familiar with the product “Kiba”, how to prepare it and what the consistency should be. And to treat paying customers like that, even afterwards, is really outrageous and leaves me speechless

I'll put it this way... at McDonald's the burgers in the picture look worlds better than what you get in real life. That's what happened to us there with the ice cream sundae, delicious fruit sundae in the picture with fresh kiwi and peaches... actually a spoonful of canned compote, for 5 euros. You can do it, it's better not to.
