Nice holiday home in an unusual ambience (former small church) in a quiet location with very rich facilities.Well suited for relaxing and hiking. Unfortunately they areShops e.g. groceries approx. 10 km awayto find. The small village shop (approx. 1.5 km) offers a lot, but is overpriced. Unfortunately for us, the nearby inn was on holiday.

After our short winter trip, we stayed at Petrus for a week during the summer holidays. We had a wonderful time!We felt comfortable again from the first moment. The facility is extremely extensive. Starting with the soap in the kitchen and bathroom, continuing with umbrellas for bad weather, grill lighters and grease spray for the large swivel grill, various Tupperware containers, etc. Continuing with the heated air fryer, raclette and also dryers and WaMa are a great icing on the cake with kids. But the highlight is the Black Forest plus map. You can use tons of offers for free. Among other things, various swimming pools - the nearest one just a few 100m away. But a museum and even a paragliding flight or cake workshop could also be booked. The landlords are super nice and attentive.

The location:The village is quiet and picturesque. It is possible to hike from the house. You can eat 200 meters down the street, and the outdoor swimming pool is also within walking distance. The street directly next to the house is moderately but regularly busy. The house:It is a beautiful building with its own charm and character. The entrance portal alone is an eye-catcher! It is a wooden house from the 1950s and therefore the sound insulation is appropriate for the year of construction. When the child cheers on the neighbor's terrace, they laugh along on the couch. The first bus leaves at 5:45 a.m.When the TV or washing machine is running downstairs, you can hear it throughout the house. The open design just has its pitfalls.Facility/equipment:The interior design is styled to perfection, one eye-catcher after the next. The washbasins deserve special attention. The tables are high, the chairs are low and hard. Seat cushions would be helpful. The plastic films in the kitchen counteract the design efforts. The kitchen is generously equipped with everything you can think of, and there was a nice small welcome present.Watching TV is difficult because the connection to the stick lags despite the repeater. Since you're usually looking at the wooden supports from the couch, watching TV alone is a good option anyway. All windows can only be opened completely inwards, which requires you to first clear away the “standing walls”. Fly screens would be very helpful so close to the stream (only the exit door to the back yard has a fly screen).Overall, unfortunately, more attention was paid to the design than to its suitability for everyday use.The sauna:Has a width of 1.65 m, of which approx. 30 cm of the bench is lost due to the oven. It remains unclear how the “up to 4 people” stated on the website will fit here.Terrace/Garden:The terrace is equipped with rustic wooden benches and is located directly on the street, but is well screened by the vegetation. Sun almost all day. Very intensely lit in the evening.Calling the small courtyard behind the house (asphalted area plus some grass) a garden is very euphemistic. We had contact with the landlords about two problems and they tried to find prompt solutions. We had a good time, but found the discrepancy between the description and reality in the places mentioned to be quite large and the price/performance ratio wasn't right for us.3 stars are too few, 4 too many. The system does not know 3.5, so in case of doubt for the defendant...

We spent a week in the super cozy and lovingly furnished holiday home. The hosts welcomed us and our dogs with very nice attention. We felt very comfortable and at home. All transactions and questions were answered promptly. There was also a Black Forest map on top.The only drawback were the open spaces in the garden from which my dogs once ran away.We will definitely be repeat offenders in 2023!

I was shocked to discover the two reviews with only 1 and 2 stars and I absolutely cannot understand them.We will be coming back in the summer after our winter stay and are already counting the days until that happens.Sure, the real wood floors are sensitive to moisture, but that's absolutely manageable - even my 9-year-old twins had no problem with it. The location is great - of course you're not in absolute desolation, but you're in the (black) forest in no time and you can hear the babbling brook. The hosts are super nice - I pestered them several times via WhatsApp and every question was answered willingly.

Overall, the holiday experience at the Petrus am Bächle holiday home only impressed us to a limited extent. Given the comparatively high price, we expected much more from the chalet. What particularly bothered us was that the parquet floor had millimeter-sized joints everywhere, so you had to constantly make sure that nothing got wet. This is particularly problematic in damp rooms... In addition, the bedroom above the porch causes people over 1.60 m to feel claustrophobic. In the kitchen and bathrooms, tables and shelves are protected by transparent cover films. This protects the surfaces, but it also somehow seems as if you had ended up in a daycare center :-(. We were also hoping for a quieter location. The house is very close to the neighboring house and also exposed directly on the connecting road between Buhlbach and Obertal. Even When the traffic volume is low, we expected a lot more alone time due to the internet presence. On the one hand, the transmission was severely affected by constant buffering due to the unstable WiFi connection, and on the other hand, the large Seating area in front of the TV for a maximum of two people with a clear view of the screen. We won't be vacationing here again - you can definitely get better accommodation for that kind of money!
