Review here as a non-hotel guest "out of competition" ;-)I went on a mountain bike tour with my son and spent the night in a refuge. We were looking for a place to have breakfast the next morning. The hotel was closed due to road closures, but boss Melanie invited us in and provided us with coffee and bread rolls. Top!!! :-)

Nice and clean rooms. The sauna and outdoor pool are great and were really good after the hike.The food in the restaurant in the evening was very tasty (onion roast) and the breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired. Nice filter coffee instead of vending machine sauce.Will definitely come back in winter.

I celebrated my big birthday in the refuge. It was a wonderful celebration with very good food and the best service. The boss and the employees took very good care of us. All guests were very satisfied with the food and drink in the beautiful restaurant.The hotel has beautiful rooms that are stylish and comfortably furnished. The location of the refuge is beautiful, in the middle of picturesque nature.

The nature and sports hotel provided us with two conference rooms with a projector, presentation case, partition walls, etc. for a closed meeting.The food from the buffet and a la carte was excellent thanks to the new chef. The hotel manager looks after her guests and always has an open ear.

Price/performance inadequateRoom in a bad condition, bathroom toilet very small, not exactly clean either, a lot of defects. Staff tried hard, half board was inadequate, there was only a small selection at dinner, but the quality was very good, unfortunately it wasn't refilled regularly, so you have to make the staff aware of it

We stayed here as a guest for 4 days.We were always treated kindly by the boss and the employees and we felt like we were in good hands. The food (half board) was really tasty, sufficient and varied, both breakfast and dinner. The rooms aren't particularly big, but they seem clean, but we didn't spend much time there.If Wi-Fi is required, unfortunately that doesn't work very well.There are 2 saunas, although sometimes only one was on. At times it was a bit busy at peak times, but there was always space in the sauna (I would estimate it could comfortably accommodate 12 people).The pool is a bit fresh, so it's more for after a sauna/shower or in midsummer.There is a large parking lot in front of the hotel, so arrival is no problem and there is a bus stop (free ticket available via the hotel). Great hikes start directly from the house, so you don't have to hike twice for 3/4 days.

Had dinner there in the evening. Just pure chaos, we ordered a salad and it came when we were finished eating. Onions for roast roast were brought after the meat had already been eaten. These actually belong on the meat, but that wasn't so bad. Our four people received their food and the three of us were almost finished eating. We then complained to the lady at reception, she said that they were a bit overwhelmed with so many guests and there were 10 of us. We also wanted to talk to the boss, unfortunately she is on vacation. There were also children in the service, I think they have a very serious staff shortage. You just can't run a restaurant like that!!!!!!!! It's a disgrace to the guest who also pays for it. We urgently need help with SERVICE and the KITCHEN.

We had a great stay at the hotel. The price-performance ratio is just right for a ***star S. The refuge offers great hiking opportunities, so after a long hike with an overnight stay in a tent in one of the trekking camps in the Black Forest National Park, you can enjoy another night in the hotel. Relax by the pool or in the sauna. The hotel is still under construction and the outdoor area is not quite finished yet. The sauna, pool and sun terrace are already usable and beautifully laid out, and simply great after a long hike. The expanded area with a natural lake etc. is still being expanded. The reception and dining rooms have been newly designed, and our standard double room was also newly renovated. We think you should support a project like this in these times and not get upset about the little things. Otherwise it is always the 4 or 5 star hotels that are unaffordable. The staff is friendly and relaxed, you have a wonderful time there and you have everything you need to switch off. We'd love to come back again.
