We were in Mathinsthal on the occasion of an anniversary. Camping is out of the question at our age. We were very warmly welcomed at Pension Monika. One problem is parking availability. The best way to come is by motorbike. Separate moped parking spaces are available in the immediate vicinity. Parking for cars is a little tricky. We'll be back next year. Greetings, the Lamp family.

If you couldn't choose a star it would be exactly that! Outdated guesthouse, disgusting, smoky and absolutely unfriendly owners. No parking!!!! Mostly fitters as guests who are just passing through.Even if it's cheap, just AVOID! You get what you pay for...

I was able to book a room for 2 nights at very short notice and was very satisfied with it. The guesthouse landlady Monika tries very hard to keep an open ear for everything.The parking situation is tricky (very narrow streets in Martinsthal), but that worked too.

The district of Martinsthal is beautifully located in the Rheingau. However, I cannot recommend the accommodation to anyone. The guesthouse is quite cheap, but, as in some other reviews, the rooms are very shabby and the child's mattress was worn out. Old furniture and a completely calcified shower head completed the room. At breakfast only the coffee and the rolls were good. Some of the tea was already musty and the crowning glory were the hard-boiled eggs, which had already been expired for months (according to the stamp). None of the guests ate them (thank God). The parking situation is very problematic, although according to the hostess there would still be parking spaces, we should contact her if we don't find one. But somehow that didn't work. Otherwise, the hostess was nice, but too talkative, especially if you wanted to have breakfast in peace. Finally, please note that the hostess would like to pay in cash. It can be done, but she always emphasized that she also had an international audience. However, that somehow contradicts itself. Well, everyone has to decide for themselves whether they book this accommodation, in any case we won't be seen there anymore. We were happy to be able to go home again, despite the beautiful area.

I can only recommend coming here for vacationers and travelers. Quiet and cozy place, owner and staff always available and nice. I was only there for a few days and it was worth it.
