We just sat in the courtyard in the evening and drank a nightcap of wine - great ambience, good wines, nice service despite self-serviceHowever, we have to rate the non-existent service in the wine shop this morning negatively: we would have liked to have purchased several bottles of the delicious red wine from the evening before - the lady on site was apparently busy with more important things - original quote when I asked if the higher price on the sign was for a box of 6 says: That can be true 🙄It's a shame - if we had been given friendly advice we would certainly have bought one or two bottles

We were there with 12 people. The welcome from the boss was very warm and the wine tasting was also very good and professional. The rooms were nice. Bathrooms could be cleaned more thoroughly. The breakfast left nothing to be desired. Very friendly staff. The Italian stand in the estate was very good. Conclusion: gladly again

So, I can't completely understand the many negative reviews.We felt very comfortable.The room was cozy, huge and spread over two levels. Compared to top hotels, the facilities were nice, but not completely state-of-the-art. But that's not the case in many hotels and then the prices would be significantly higher.The breakfast was great, as was the location.Drinking wine in the courtyard in the evening and then quickly going to the room when you get tired is something.The inner courtyard could be made a little nicer, but it doesn't have to be.I can recommend Weingut Koegler to anyone who doesn't expect a 5-star resort at a 3-star price.The location is also great. Max. 10 minutes (more like 5) to the train station, 5 minutes to the Rhine, the pedestrian zone of Eltville can also be reached in 5 minutes on foot.We will definitely come back.

About a week ago we stayed at the Hotel Koegler for a weekend with 17 people. Since I had previously read the bad reviews, I was very skeptical. We were happy with everything - free parking in the yard, the owner was very friendly, the room was clean and tasteful and quiet. Well, the windows couldn't be darkened properly - very high windows in old walls. If this bothers someone, they should bring a sleeping mask. Another criticism was that there were no pictures on the walls - the beautiful old masonry is beautiful enough without pictures. The thick walls made it comfortable in the room despite the heat outside. The breakfast was also good - of course there were always fresh rolls, a large selection of cheese, sausage, salmon, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, muesli and lots of fresh fruit. In the evening you could sit in the courtyard or garden and enjoy the excellent wine. When checking in there were vouchers for a glass of wine or champagne. It's a mystery to me why someone would write a bad review. Ah, the supposedly high price was still criticized. Where in the Rheingau and especially in Eltville can you find equivalent cheaper hotels?

Cozy + delicious! Very good price-performance ratio. Tarte flambée with goat cheese is great and fills you up, wine spritzer goes perfectly

Here I can only rate the wine bar, as we only enjoyed that. We felt very comfortable in the courtyard. The wine was tasty. Unfortunately, only self-service was possible here. But that didn't detract from the ambience or the enjoyment of the wine. We would have liked to have eaten a little something with it. This was not possible because the subcontracted pizzeria was closed.

Unfortunately there were some things in our room that weren't so great. The fire smoke detector was missing. It was just the bottom part under the blanket. Fire protection should be guaranteed. The smoke detector was also missing in our friend's room and only the empty bottom part was hanging there. One of the privacy curtains was only hanging on 2 screws at half past seven. The grout lines in the shower area on the floor look shabby in the corners. In addition, the safe was not usable and the things mentioned should definitely be remedied. For the price you can expect more performance. That is our feeling. The breakfast was good. The inner courtyard is beautifully landscaped and invites you to linger. The staff was really nice. But the rooms need to improve. Paid €165 for the double room with breakfast.

Beautiful property under terrible management! Rooms are actually very nice, but not well maintained. Shower fitting fell off and shower water could no longer be turned off. Was there as a business traveler and discovered afterwards that the invoice did not show the VAT. No chance of correcting this as no one was ever available by phone and no response to emails. Breakfast was good - but overall catastrophic!

Good location in town and plenty of parking spaces. Unfortunately the hotel is not well maintained, there were 5 couples of us, there were several defects/missing fire alarms…. leaky sinks, dimly lit showers, broken curtains, etc.The service outside (nice tables, chairs and umbrellas) was catastrophic… 1 person had to serve around 30 guests. Long waiting times ……

Unfortunately, as paying guests we were treated very badly here. At night we wanted to enter the building and the door was locked. Nobody could be reached by phone - only after minutes of knocking and shouting was the door opened for us by a correspondingly angry guest. Our quiet complaint the next day was not addressed; on the contrary, they claimed that the door was always open. After we protested that this was not true, we were called drunk rioters and crazy. Treating guests like this is really abysmal. There wasn't even an apology or even a tiny bit of understanding, instead we were insulted. I have never experienced such poor and unfriendly service in any other hotel. Never again!The rooms are nice in themselves, but unfortunately the entire hotel is unclean and carelessly neglected in every corner.

We have been coming to Eltville for vacation for 5 years. We really enjoyed visiting the cozy garden of the Koegler winery. But this time it will be a short stay on Saturday. As soon as we entered, we noticed the desolate condition of the entire area. The wine stand was unoccupied, the toilets not very clean, very few guests, unfriendly staff, tables not cleared...What happened to this really great location? A pity!We would rather go to one of the hospitable wine bars in Eltville and the surrounding area. There are actually enough of them.
