Apartament Arte Povera

This is more or less a slightly more luxurious version of a student house. The price is not very high (especially for 5 people, we pay 90 euros) and that is a good thing.We were in transit from Poland to the Netherlands and our goal was not to have to drive too long and to be able to recover in between.Upon arrival it was unclear where we had to report, but fortunately when we communicated via chat on the booking app that we had arrived, it was quickly indicated that the son was on his way.The area behind the fence was a mess of waste, bicycles, mopeds, cars and there was an unpleasant sewage smell. There were already three cars belonging to (I think) the residents and we could just fit one of the two cars behind the fence. Because we were passing through, we didn't want to unpack much and the cars were quite packed, so it was a shame that only 1 could fit behind the gate.The room itself was kept cool by the air conditioning, which was very nice. It was immediately noticeable that this was not two bedrooms and a living room, as we had already seen in a previous review (after we had booked), but an open bedroom directly adjacent to the sitting area (i.e. in the same room). The same room also houses the kitchen and a seating area with (very heavy metal) chairs and a round table. From this room you also have access to a bathroom with toilet, and there is a separate room with a door, but it cannot be locked, so if you are with several people you have to take that into account.The other bedroom is a separate room. Adjacent is a small bathroom with lamps that did not all work or were missing a shade. Here is a sturdy large shower with a wide head and the option of massage jets in the back. The bathroom and bedroom doors are very cramped and the bathroom doors cannot be locked either.The room was not clean: many things were sticky, the light switches were visibly dirty, there were dead insects on the floor, the plates in the kitchen were not clean, the drawers in the bathroom were dirty and the oven was dirty and smelly when we turned him on.Smaller things were also disappointing: the curtains on one side did not hang properly, which looked messy, the beautiful photos of a jazz musician on the floor instead of on the wall (there was one screw in the wall and the other was broken off). and was on the floor), the sofa was not a sofa bed according to the son and we just had to slide the two sofas together (when sliding I discovered that this was a sofa bed and could easily be folded out). There were other people living adjacent to the apartment that did not bother us, but who did let their dog(s) walk outside while they were away, causing the dog to keep barking at their door. The next day there was dog poop next to our car and at the front door, very dirty.There was only a used small sponge in the kitchen to wash dishes with and no dishwasher. So I don't know how to do the dishes yourself, maybe bring your own sponge/brush and tea towels. A standard roll of baking paper near the oven and an oven glove would not be a major investment to accommodate people who stay here for 1 day and want to heat up/prepare something in the oven. The kitchen cupboard next to the oven is also out of joint, meaning the oven cannot open and close properly (see photo).I have to say, the sofa bed was a bit hard/firm, but I slept well on it, which is a plus.Given the dirty floors in the bathroom and the overall dirty impression of the apartment, we decided not to shower (also for fear that the sewage smell would also come up in the apartment).I don't understand the height difference between the floor in the kitchen and dining area and it means that you have little space to move the chairs around the dining table. Due to the design of the floor, you have to pay close attention to where it is lower to avoid making a mistake. It is also not one straight step, but it runs at an angle.All in all, unfortunately I wouldn't book this again.

This apartment's glory days are long behind it. Upon entering, we were greeted by the smell of sewage and it was outrageous. But let's move on. Dirty walls and a refrigerator, infested ants, worn-out furniture and numerous faults, including one of the toilets that were not working, completed the picture of misery and despair. Poor quality bedding did not encourage relaxation. Only the lack of an alternative and our fatigue after 70 km on the bike stopped us from giving up. Good thing it was only a one night stay.

Hmm, very nice area, quiet and peaceful. The owners were very nice and friendly. Large and safe parking lot. Everything is in place, I recommend this facility 😉

Very nice price and polite owner. The apartment itself was a bit dirty and had an unpleasant smell from the sewage system in one of the rooms. For one night approx.

Such an average accommodation.More disappointing.Everything might be fine, but the bathroom smells like sewage. The apartment was poorly organized, crumbs were scattered on the ground, spiders lived in the corners, dishes were not clean. There were five of us, but the apartment was prepared for 4 people, we had to ask for extra bed linen. Towels and toilet paper also had to be requested, as none were left.The building smells of dampness.The bedding was clean but not ironed.The family lives next door.
