Had a nice meal in the Abdij restaurant in Horn. Nice place with terrace. Very quiet, probably because it was out of season on a Monday evening.|Friendly service. …

If you are looking for a small and well-kept hotel near Roermond, you will definitely find it here. The Hotel De Abdij presents itself as a former monastery with an impressive ambience with many memorabilia from the time. The rooms are perfectly clean - in my suite with stucco on the ceiling! The service and friendliness are also phenomenal - you come as a guest and leave as a friend! The breakfast is well stocked! We also recommend taking a look at the restaurant menu! I ate the absolute best Limburgse Zuurvlees there!!

In August 2024 we were only in the restaurant, without staying overnight. The quiet location and the large terrace invite you to linger. The service was ok, tended to be cozy and friendly. Starter brocoli/cauliflower soup was plentiful and deliciously prepared, with dark bread and various spreads. We shared the main course, beef steak with plenty of fries, steamed vegetables and a good salad. The meat was medium rare, as ordered and very tender and delicious. Given our high standards - we didn't expect that. So my 5-star recommendation if you have some patience. There is also a social working model behind the restaurant, which is really to be welcomed.
