Restaurant Kasteel Aldenghoor & Bed en Breakfast

Bridal couples beware!!!!I was asked to marry in 2019 and while on holiday I went looking for THE location. I ended up at Aldenghoor Castle and we immediately fell in love with this location after the viewing. A quote and a nice conversation followed, everything seemed perfect and although there was no final quote yet, we assumed that everything would turn out fine, we had complete confidence. We received an email asking us to make a deposit of €1000 to secure the date, so done. Unfortunately, corona threw a spanner in the works last year and our wedding could not take place, we tried to adjust it with the number of people and only a one-day party, but unfortunately... I had the choice to get my deposit back, but so neat. However, my partner and I were confident and since we really wanted to get married here, we only postponed the date provisionally, so that the deposit could also remain. Unfortunately, we now also have corona and I am happily expecting. Our wedding, for which no final quotation has ever been made until today, would therefore not take place this year. I contacted them to move the date, but they were not sympathetic, I even indicated that I wanted to pay more, but the tone completely changed. She no longer had a place available for next year (while an acquaintance of mine was still able to book there, very strange). The owner was beyond reason and treated us very rudely. The way the contact went really put me off and we had a terrible feeling after that contact. We then indicated that we no longer wanted to use this location. I have kindly requested that my deposit be refunded because 1000 is a considerable amount for the most beautiful day of your life that you will not get there. Unfortunately, that's when the trouble really started. The owner demanded 35% of the first quotation made (approximately € 8,000), which was never signed or definitively approved, after all, we were still negotiating. We had to hire a lawyer to get even part of it back. This woman takes the law into her own hands and the further this process went, the more I came into contact with other bridal couples who were also treated so rudely. Weddings have even been canceled because this woman thinks another event is more important, I hope for these bridal couples that they will find a new location in the short term, but I do not recommend Aldenghoor to everyone!Last month we received part of the down payment, but we never saw the remaining 300,-. The stress is really not good for my pregnancy and so we left it at that, they have already taken away the most beautiful day of my life, I don't wish my pregnancy on her... we sincerely hope that she will be happy with our 300,- but we regret her actions and way of making money. We are going to first enjoy our pregnancy and then certainly look for a new location, but especially a new hostess, someone who understands what the most beautiful day of your life should be.:)

Beautiful, atmospheric and delicious food! We came especially because my parents had stayed there a few weeks ago and they were so positive!

What a great location, atmospheric and so much history. We got a nice short tour from Rogier and were taken into the great history of the Castle. Will definitely come back and book the more extensive tour, see Rogier!

Had a great stay with delicious food and friendly staff

Had a super tasty lunch for no money. Very spontaneous and friendly service. Well-kept and clean inside, nice and quiet terrace in a cozy courtyard.

Only had lunch here during a cycling tour. Was fine; delicious food.
