We stayed in holiday home 29 as a family with a 13-year-old son. The holiday park is in a quiet location and had manageable occupancy during the summer holidays. Couples seeking peace and quiet, families with small children, hikers and bikers will find their place here. I don't recommend the park to anyone else. The restaurant is only open from Thursday to Saturday from 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. The water in the indoor pool was ice cold and not heated as advertised. The trampoline was broken and the 12-hole mini golf course was partially unplayable. The living-dining area and the bathroom in the holiday home were completely fine, but the beds in the bedrooms were not. The mattresses are obsolete, the beds are max. 190 cm long. For over €200 per day you can expect better accommodation, we have stayed better for less money. All in all, the facility seemed shabby and unkempt in places.

Some staff is very unfriendly. There was one staff member “ male in his 40s” who was very cocky and talking bad about Jews and saying “heil hitler, doing the Hitler Salute. ||||The chalet was very dirty when we arrived, mold in the refrigerator, a broken glass, back doors don’t lock, No Wifi, etc…||||||Would not recommend

We spent 2 weeks at this campsite with a really wonderful view of the Eifel.The sanitary building was cleaned properly every day.However, the light there is extremely dark in the evening.The plugs are missing in the sinks.When I booked I was assured that there was the possibility of watching the European Football Championship in the basement bar.After we had eaten in the restaurant, fried potatoes with coal-black onions (I then got new ones) and the meat wasn't really tasty, we wanted to watch football afterwards.Answer from the boss“I won’t open the basement bar for two people”I then had to watch the next games in Gerolstein, i.e. 7 kilometers there and 7 kilometers back.On Saturday the basement bar became the gameGermany: Spain open.The bar was well attended, but the boss seemed overwhelmed!I had ordered a cyclist.He put a Hefeweizen on the counter for me.I kindly asked him for sweet fizz (Sprite)However, he poured Gerolsteiner water into my beer.I told him again that I wanted a cyclist.Suddenly he got really angry, took my beer and poured it into the sink saying I couldn't order properly.The lady sitting next to me told him that a Radler is mixed with Sprite.He then poured Fanta into the glass, filled it with beer and slammed the glass on the counter. I was shocked, or rather my neighbor and I were.We looked at each other and were totally perplexed 😖 I was really at a loss for words and couldn't really enjoy the football game. 😪At halftime we went outside to smoke a cigarette, which I desperately needed after this incident.Suddenly the boss came and said angrily and upset:"DRINK UP AND GO"I WAS SO SURPRISED AND ASKED WHAT WAS THIS ABOUT?AND AGAIN HE JUST SAID"DRINK UP AND GO"I then left the bar and watched the end of the game in Gerolstein (then had to drive again).I am now 66 years old and I have never been treated so disrespectfully in my life.The boss is Dutch, if you work in the catering industry you should know what a shandy is and treat the guests in a friendly manner.If you have nothing to do with the boss, you can have a nice vacation there!By the way, the gardener, the cleaning lady and the lady at the reception were very friendly.

We (couple) were in the Gerolstein forest holiday park with the caravan. The camper area is beautifully terraced on an Eifel hill and offers a kilometer-wide view over the mountain landscape. You can shop about 5 km further in Gerolstein. The sanitary area was regularly maintained and was okay. You have to put in 50 cents for a 5 minute shower. That might make sense in terms of saving water, but at the same time there are no plugs in the sink area (we have our own) and so lots of water runs out when we wash dishes. The sanitary cassette must be inserted into a machine (€2). Emptying motorhomes is prohibited. The washing machine costs €5.Unfortunately, the Dutch boss is a person with rude manners. His demeanor and manner of speaking are inappropriate in the hospitality industry. A drink order that he was unable to carry out correctly caused him to have an outburst of anger and, after the guest made a factual correction, he was expelled from the restaurant. A guest who has a fl. When I ordered Gerolsteiner water (€8.50), I was asked if he was gay because he didn't drink beer. The accommodation business is not easy. If you can't do it, if you can't handle the stress there, you should leave it alone.Overall, the facility is getting old. The bungalow park was largely empty, even in high season there were enough parking spaces. Part of the advertised facility is not usable. For example, the pool tables are constantly covered and the indoor pool is a small pool filled with greenish water. If you don't want to spend your vacation on the toilet, you should avoid it. On the periphery is giant hogweed, an introduced plant that causes severe burns. Please warn children!A big drawback is that there is almost no internet connection on site. WiFi (free) is only available at reception. This is no longer possible today when it comes to tour planning, weather forecasts and sightseeing planning! ("Fast Internet" is the advertising of the forest holiday park....We were there specifically because we were promised in advance that you could watch the European Championships 2024 in the basement bar. But then it wasn't opened regularly. “I won’t open for two people.”Conclusion:Anyone who avoids the boss with a restaurant and feels comfortable without the Internet has a nice parking space in the middle of the Eifel with the beautiful view and acceptable sanitary facilities.However, we will never be guests there again.

A small and beautiful campsite and perfectly located to serve as a starting point for all activities.The place is beautifully laid out (in terraces) and quiet. The toilets are clean and sufficient for the size of the campsite.We didn't think the play area that people complain about so much here was that bad, yes it could get an update but the children could still play on it really well.We will definitely come back soon because there is still a lot to discover there.Greetings from Sauerland.

A place with atmosphere. A great option for a weekend getaway

The place and the staff can all be rated as good. Unfortunately, as so often happens, it fails because of people who don't follow the rules, who simply let their dogs run around despite the ban and allow the dogs to relieve themselves behind the caravan or on the awning of neighbors.

Very very rude employees who insult children and are unfriendly.

Beautiful location! We had a house with a beautiful view of the campsite and mountains. The house was neatly maintained and clean. From the park you can walk straight into the forest. Nice playground. Animal meadow with a donkey, bunnies and a few sheep. Our daughter loved petting them. Swimming pool is not that big, but fine for a morning/afternoon with bad weather. There was also a miniature golf course, which we did not use. We had a delicious meal there and there is a sandwich service. There are plenty of fun things to do in the area for both adults and children.Friendly owners and staff. We will definitely come back again.
