This is a nice youth hostel. Although the rooms are a bit dated and the layout of the sanitary facilities is unusual, the very accommodating and friendly staff more than make up for it. The food was quite good. There is a bike storage room and a leisure room. Overall, the hostel is actually quite centrally located. There is a bus stop directly across the street, but it’s better to use the main tram and bus lines. There are many stops within walking distance. The hostel also has its own parking spaces, although they are quite limited. It is ideal for a nice weekend with the family in Kassel and I am happy to recommend this accommodation.

We stayed there for 2 nights as part of a family holiday. The youth hostel is very central to the city and the train station. But it is still very quiet there and surrounded by nature.The youth hostel is highly recommended.Sure, the building is old and the facilities and sanitary facilities are accordingly, and the employees can't change that! But they make the building a place to feel good through their hospitality and attentive care with loving decorative details.The food was varied and tasty and there was enough for everyone. 👍🏼

The food was surprisingly good. The meals were varied and there was also an attractive option for vegetarians. The staff in the dining room were always friendly and helpful.The staff at the youth hostel in general were also very nice and committed. Everyone tried to ensure we had a pleasant stay and were available quickly if we had any questions or problems.Unfortunately, the room did not fully confirm this positive impression. The furnishings seemed old and worn out. Although everything was clean, a renovation was urgently needed to make the stay a little more comfortable.Another point that unfortunately bothered us was the noise level in the evening. After 10 p.m. there were disturbances in the peace and quiet, which made it difficult to fall asleep. This could be particularly problematic for families with small children, as it is difficult to get some rest on time.Overall, the youth hostel is certainly a good choice for school groups or solo travelers. However, families and travelers who value a quiet night should consider an alternative.

We had NO toilet paper and NO paper towels for almost a dayAt the reception we were told to wait until the afternoon and to let us know if there was anything there. Additionally, the sinks were dirty at all times of the day. It was disgusting...A few beds were full of crumbs and bed had a hairbrush and lots of hair.

Very uncomplicated and good price-performance ratio! Staff is very friendly and helpful! Food tastes very good! Towels also available upon request! Since I don't like poultry, the food was very poultry-heavy! However, there is always a vegetarian alternative! We felt very comfortable and would love to come back!

The youth hostel is a joke.The food was edible on one of 4 days. The rolls for breakfast resemble thick cardboard.The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired!! The toilets look and smell like they haven't been cleaned in at least a month. The rooms are also not exactly hygienic, especially the beds.All in all it was a frightening and disgusting experience.Never again!!

We were with a large group. We had a nice time. Great service, easily accessible. With the heat outside, the room was a bit stuffy. Good beds. 2 sockets per room. Showers and toilets dated, but clean.Half board food is very well taken care of. Closing time for dinner could have been a little later for us.Parking problem. Parking lot is small. If it is full, you have to look in the residential area for a parking space.

We stayed there for one night last week. The youth hostel is getting old, without question. But overall it was clean, tidy and the staff was friendly and kept everything clean. Of course, the sanitary facilities in the corridors may not be up to date and there is a bit of a smell due to the old pipes, but it is an older youth hostel and not a 5 star hotel with a pool, sauna area and pampering service. The breakfast was delicious, there was a lot of choice of cornflakes and the coffee was good. Will we come back? If we're in a corner, it could be possible.

Rooms very dirty, you don't dare go into the showers in the hallways, very disgusting smell. Popcorn fell out of the bed upstairs. & keep your eyes open in the women's bathroom because there is a hole in the floor. not recommended!

So really, the showers in the hallways don't work at all, they are musty and absolutely unreasonable, there aren't enough sockets in the rooms for 4 people and popcorn fell out of a bed.
