Tried to have a reservation for one night, and they replied that they don’t book for one night only. What a weird policy for a hostel. I guess the owner changed, used to be a great place, but understandable I cannot book a room for one night…

We crashed there for one night and were absolutely content. The rooms and facilities are simple but sufficient and kept perfectly clean. The owner is very kind and dedicated to helping you and making sure the place is welcoming and cosy.

Very warm welcome. Totally within the price range. It's 5 minutes to the train station and 10 minutes to the pedestrian zone, which leads via the island town to the mountain town. So great location!

We really liked the Pano Backpackers Hostel! We were there over the weekend with a group of almost 20 people. Pano is really very helpful, super friendly and flexible. The rooms are rather large, there are enough toilets and showers, the kitchen is already equipped with a few small things and the roof terrace is wonderful to start and end the day.

An awesome small family-run hostel - way cosier than you would guess from the entrance through a parking lot! Very clean room and well maintained, fully equipped kitchen with nice hang-out space and even a roof terrace. The owner is committed to making your stay enjoyable and helps out with all kinds of small things. Definitely recommend!

There are many reasons to love Bamberg but, among all of them, two speak dearly to our hearts: beer and The Backpackers Hostel. Once there we really feel like we’re home and, although their rates are more than fair, that’s a priceless feeling. The accommodations are comfortable and everything is clean; the restrooms, even though are shared, are disposed in a way that one can have a fair share of privacy; the kitchen has everything one needs - and that includes proper glasses for your beer; and if you’re in the mood, you may even wash and dry your beaten clothes; last but not least, there’s the staff, that is loving and flexible. What can I say? Me, my wife and our furry daughter love Pano and feel most welcome every time he’s around. All of that in a great location where you may have everything you need and tourist spots only a short walking distance. So we’ve been to this hostel before and hope to come back many many times in the future.

Decent place with a good price rating and very good location to get everything done what you want to do. Staff is very nice. Only downsides were that some people were incredibly loud late at night and the main men's bathroom did not look as nice as any of the others. The kitchen was very nice as well, free coffee and all. The fruit trees and hop plant were also a very nice sight.

On the way to the south of Europe, Bamberg is not just a beautiful small town that justifies a stop, this hostel makes the start of your summer vacation a first southern vacation experience. The friendliness of the Greek hostel father tempted us to stop for longer on the journey there and back and to experience the location and the great community. Talking to open and interesting people in the kitchen over a coffee (freshly made in the morning and of course free) and playing cards together in the evening is the kind of vacation I like.Thanks for the great time!

Hostel absolutely does what it promises. Everything was very clean and inviting. The owner is friendly and can give good tips. Overall you feel very welcome. The price/performance ratio is completely right.
