Rooms were clean, breakfast tables unfortunately not. Nicely located but unfortunately with a train under the pillow 😂. Price performance is okay.

Great medieval hotel - you stay overnight in a tourist attraction! The owners speak German poorly, but are very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was newly renovated. The breakfast was great. Big drawback: the hotel is DIRECTLY on the train line. The freight trains really roll through directly under the window (or directly at the level of the breakfast room), of course no window in the world can shield that. To get a restful sleep you really have to be insensitive, because the trains run at high frequency even at night. This is probably normal in the Middle Rhine Valley, but I have never seen the train so close to houses without noise protection. WiFi didn't work in the room, no wonder, we were in the tower with thick medieval walls.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and it were very tired. When we checked in, no one spoke English so we had to use our phones to communicate. From the outside it looks super cool but we were disappointed when we got inside. It will do if you just want somewhere to sleep, but no more than that.

Spacious room, disadvantage no elevator lots of steps to climb to access the rooms…. No hot water in the shower except alternately and freight trains which pass all day 10m from the rooms,

Unfortunately there were massive communication problems at check-in; we had to use Google translator because the Asian man at reception couldn't understand us. It's an old building that smells a bit musty in the rooms, right next to a railway line. You can hear the trains very loudly during the night. The windows in the rooms could not be tilted, only opened or closed. There was no air conditioning. The lady at breakfast was very nice and friendly.

It is a very unique hotel as it is built in to the ancient wall of the city. There are many castles nearby so it is an excellent location if you want to take in some of those.  …

Another solid hotel choice when visiting Europe! Nothing extravagant but it had good food and was very quaint. The location is in a great spot in Bacharach and you can see castles basically on every single hilltop. Simply magical.

Ok. One night. Ok and not Ok.Ok. Room and building were Ok. Not fancy but clean.Ok. Bathroom Ok, but not heated.Ok. Breakfast Ok, but breakfast room was cold.We stayed March 9, 2024.Not Ok.1. Room was cold and had marginal heat.2. Bathroom had no heat.3. The biggest issue is that our room, #4, was next to the railroad track and a track switching point. There were freight Trains every few minutes just outside the window that were loud and made even louder by the noise of the iron wheels going over this bump in the track. So the Room was Ok buy the train noise was way too loud to sleep between 10pm and 6am. This is not the hotel's fault but Deutsche Bahn fault for allowing terrible condition freight trains. The people trains are quiet.Next time I would not stay in a room on the tracks/river side but on the Langgasse side.4. No one at reception.5. We only saw one oriental man, who spoke no German and no English
