Total disaster! I paid 177 euros for a room in the post-reunification charm. Carpeting that is at least 20 years old. Furniture from the 80s. TV device that you have to look for with binoculars with image quality worse than a tube television. The bathroom... I'll spare you the details. I don't know how a shed like this gets these reviews on Booking.com. A disgrace for this money!!

Spent three wonderful days in this great hotel! The restaurant offers excellent cuisine, everything lovingly prepared! My lactose intolerance was addressed very well! A great atmosphere! Avery nice and attentive staff! The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired, lots of lovely homemade jams! Warmth is very important in this house! Thanks so much!

Very friendly reception. Room well maintained. Very nice food in the restaurant. For my husband who cannot climb stairs, there was an outside elevator and we were given a room on the ground floor.  …

Were only there to eat. But I was so excited about it (Thuringian dumplings with goulash - the finest!!) that I wanted to visit it again immediately...

We visited the Marienturm with a reservation in the evening. The atmosphere on the covered terrace is very pleasant. Both, as you might expect, from the view as well as from the furnishings and table decorations. We were served quickly outside, even in bad weather. The service was extremely delightful and friendly. For dinner we had cucumber salad as a starter as an extra order and a small salad that came with the dish. The salads were both beautifully presented and very tasty. The main courses were dumplings, red cabbage and beef goulash and dumplings with sauerbraten. The first dish was delicious, but I was missing a little more spice. The red cabbage and dumplings were excellent. The sauerbraten wasn't very well received (it lacked acidity in the taste) and the dumplings weren't convincing in terms of taste either. Due to the increasingly bad weather, we moved indoors and were helped by the very friendly service. The offer couldn't meet the need to drink a small, lovely champagne inside. This mainly consists of dry wines, which is a shame. The prices are quite high, which is why I decided against a cocktail as an alternative. I can praise the ginger ale here, very pleasant ginger note and sweetness. The women's sanitary rooms are fine. Pleasant scent and everything sour. However, there is still room for improvement in terms of modernization in relation to the guest room and terrace. We paid a total of around €75 for 2 people with drinks. There are enough parking spaces, only the route to the restaurant could be excellent, as we walked a bit aimlessly to every open door. Finally, I would like to mention the wonderful service again. So you enjoy being a guest and are happy to leave a little extra tip.
