Zeltwiese Absberg

We come there several times a year with our motorhome. We always liked it. Electricity in certain places. There's also a lot on offer for young people.Unfortunately, the restaurants that are based there have been disappointing us for a long time. They are simply too expensive for a self-service beer garden. Special dishes and only fast food are not to be expected, sweeter prices are overpriced.Beer prices are outrageously expensive!!What a shame!! Something has to change.

Ideal for families, great lake

Nice campsite with a good location by the lake.

This campground has some pros and cons, especially if you are looking for a family-friendly campground.Advantages:- Beautiful bays for swimming, with shade and sand.- The family meadow has plenty of shade.Disadvantages:- It is very loud in the evening, due to concerts or drunk people.- The cycle path leads directly through the campsite, a real source of danger for children.- There are far too few toilets and some of them are unusable because they are blocked, etc., and they are quite far away from the family meadow.- Showering costs extra, so I can't even shower my child quickly.- There is no washing machine.- There is a lack of small toilets, child-high sinks, etc. to include the little ones.- No storage space in the toilets.- The water is of rather mediocre quality, so it's even more annoying that showering costs extra.- No free parking space, parking costs an additional 5 euros per day, and in some cases there are only parking spaces far away.- The camping meadow is full of mice that like to crawl under the tent and make noise at night.- Dog owners often cannot read the notice that their dog is not allowed to go swimming just anywhere.- Some of the surrounding nature is very dirty, unfortunately there are also a lot of dog bags with shit in them.- The whole place is incredibly overcrowded, and eating and drinking there is very expensive.- Good shopping opportunities can only be reached by car.- The garbage station is quite close to the family meadow and always spreads its scent over it.Conclusion: I don't understand what exactly is supposed to be family-friendly about this place. There is hardly any infrastructure for children and no childcare or anything like that. It's more of a place for partying groups.

Was there at a festival or party. Right next to the campsite

We spent three nights with three families on the group meadow (not family meadow) in Absberg and had a really great time. We had three small children with us. The night's rest was always maintained and we were able to sleep really well. The prices in the beach restaurant and at the kiosk are quite high, but the drinks and food are really good. The lake is also beautiful and the little ones liked it. The only negative point is the sanitary facilities: there are far too few for the number of overnight guests and they weren't always really clean.Overall, you can confidently recommend the tent meadow for a camping holiday. Thumbs up 👍

Great location and lovely choice of activities but very few toilets and showers (only two buildings for 4 camp site areas).Would not recommend the family site (which we chose due to the fence, but all gates were always open so it didn’t really help with kids being able to run off or to the lake). Especially the two tent rows closest to the lake as there is no shade and the grass is really sloped so you constantly slide down in your sleeping bag. The toilet buildings are also surprisingly far away from the family site - would be great if they added a small toilet building there.

Very nice, but borderline algae contamination (blue-green algae). Nice nudist beach, not as remote as others. However, sometimes with “posing” guests.

NB:- No electricity possible at tent site, quiet meadow.- Do not take your car to the tent site, not even for loading or unloading.- Parking is not included, €5 per day. However, after paying, there appear to be no places available!Booked more than six months in advance. Fortunately, our tent site was still free. There was a tent from the adjacent zone on half of it.The parking capacity is below average. Frequently used by people who come for a day of swimming. No special places for camping guests.You can use carts to move your luggage. However, their wheels are small and very difficult to push on the paved paths.There is a sandwich cart in the parking lot. However, 70% of the sandwiches were sold out at 8:30 am.The sanitary facilities are very minor. Frequently used by people who are not staying at the campsite. No toilet seats in the men's toilets. In the morning a large line of men threatening to poop in their pants.The bar at the beach is secondary during live music. The waiting time to order a drink is +\- 40 minutes.The “quiet meadow” borders the group meadows on 3 sides. During the day it sounds like an amusement park and the toddlers run through your things, in the evening you can clearly hear the hardcore music of young people or the whining music of large families that are not on the family meadow.We had no hot water at the washing up station.The kiosk has delicious coffee, drinks and snacks. However, it closes at 8:00 PM, so you are obliged to walk down and wait 40 minutes.Shopping by car is not an option, then the parking lot is gone and you can no longer park even if it has already been paid for.The staff is very friendly and helpful.

This much has to be said. The friendly staff in the kiosks and on the square are what bring the most joy here. They really try hard and always have a smile on their faces. The place is nice, but already very crowded.
