Virtually no service-You have to clean the room yourself (clean the floor)-You have to wash dishes yourself, including other people's dishes (don't just take them to the dishwashing room)-Toilets have to be cleaned-You also have to clean the dining roomsDon't go to this hostel#Youth hostel does not respond with "we only ask our guests to take away their dishes and leave their room with a broom"

You can really relax here and have wonderful hikes in the northern Black Forest, for example to Badener Höhe or explore the Hornisgrinde, but I recommend not going there on the weekend, the buses only run every two hours and the hostel is really remote, and it there is very little staff available. You also have to eat together with your children. But there is also breakfast and dinner, and the staff is very friendly.

First contact is very unfriendly! It is also of no interest to a customer what stressful situations the staff is exposed to. Availability is also displayed, even though it is fully booked until the end of the year. "The music makes the sound", we will not seek contact again.

Staff actually very nice and friendly, but sometimes a bit scary, food good but sometimes super scary, there are mouse traps in two corners, the house is very old and one window leaks, good location but a bit out of the way,

Very dirty, unfriendly staff and the children had to clean the toilets, as well as the rooms and hallways. There are also complaints for several months where it says that it is dirty and where they wrote underneath that they will correct it and that still hasn't happened yet happened

I was here with my son last weekend and thought it was great! We hike on the Westweg, which is easily accessible from the youth hostel. Although I originally didn't want to check in until the evening, but ended up arriving at lunchtime, that wasn't a problem at all. We were welcomed very nicely. The room was clean and had its own shower and toilet. Breakfast was also OK. Totally ok for the price,The only negative point was that we couldn't find the hostel straight away, nor the stop. We may have also missed some signage.I think it's very nice here. We'd love to come back!Thanks!

Good food, even the gluten free and vegetarian ones. Rooms were also good and nice, large group rooms.Also very nice location. The forest and surroundings are great and there is plenty of space for children to play. Unfortunately it's far away from the next village.

I was with a holiday camp at the youth hostel in Herrenwies and we had a wonderful stay. For a youth hostel the rooms are very comfortable and the property and surroundings are beautiful (see photos). The food is good and offers a lot of choice (e.g. always salad buffet, vegetarian dishes, dessert). You can go on great hikes from the youth hostel and there are many opportunities for leisure activities. The best thing, however, are the employees. They are really friendly and helpful and always there when you need something. I felt completely comfortable and well looked after. They were able to give me great tips for any questions I had and took care of all of my group's needs.I would go there again at any time and can highly recommend the hostel to everyone!

The rooms were very untidy and there was even mold under the beds. The food was ok, but the hygiene was not, some of the cooks didn't wear gloves or didn't wash their hands, there was even hair in the food. The location and the tours in the area were against it very good.

The arrival was very difficult, the rooms were dirty, there were stains and crumbs on the beds, I was there on a school trip and it wasn't nice, the staff was rude and disgusting, the pasta that was on the floor was picked up and thrown back into the tub by the ICE tea was much too sweet for my taste, the food was bathed in oil but it was ok, the nature is quite beautiful but you have to hike for a long time to get to a beautiful place. In everything it's ok but there is one more thing: the water 0.5 Liter 2.50€ I think that's too expensive but everyone has their own opinion😊🙂

Very beautiful DJH and popular with young people. Is particularly used for school trips.Very spacious and natural outdoor area, or associated outdoor area with barbecue area, soccer field and playground.Located directly on a beautiful torrent and the forest.Service, rooms and food were always good.Only the proximity to the country road could be annoying during the day.

Last weekend we were at the youth hostel with our girls' soccer team and were completely satisfied. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the bed linen was fresh from the laundry for us. We were alone and were able to make extensive use of the outdoor area with a great, large barbecue area, for which we were provided with plenty of beer tent sets. There is also a hard soccer court and two volleyball fields. There is also a small stream 100 meters behind the house and there is another soccer field towards the church. The breakfast was extensive and left nothing to be desired for the kids. Kaba, muesli, Nutella, a small assortment of bread rolls - everything was great. Of course there was also cheese, sausage, yoghurt, some fruit, tea and coffee as well as breakfast eggs and jam. We are completely happy and would love to come back! Absolute recommendation! Of course also because of the fabulous location!!! Kind regards and many thanks to the great team!

When you read a few reviews here you think you were expecting a five star hotel.This is a youth hostel that offers everything you could expect from a youth hostel and much more.The surroundings and the immediate surrounding area are absolutely picturesque and beautiful. The small stream that delimits the area invites you to splash around, the volleyball fields, the basketball court, the soccer field and the table tennis tables are perfect for playing. Inside there is table tennis and a table football table.The rooms are simple but functional. The staff is incredibly lovely. Above all, the short-haired kitchen fairy is a blessing for the hostel, who looks after everyone lovingly and helpfully, responds to special requests as much as possible and radiates a lot of warmth.The manager is also incredibly hard-working and incredibly friendly. She is also a qualified psychologist who can use her skills if necessary.We ABSOLUTELY recommend booking the package with the riverbed hike, abseiling from the bridge and rafting! It was a wonderful, wonderful day that we didn't want to miss.Kind regards from Pforzheim
