Nice Hostel for a weekend trip with walking trails in the Black Forests Mountains. It’s a getaway from the busy tourist spots. It has a cozy and friendly atmosphere and the place is a little run down but the hospitality makes up for it.

We were hiking on the Westweg and had to spend the night in sand as an emergency.Even though they were actually closed, we were admitted.They even provided warm water especially for us and the breakfast was great.Patrick is really extremely friendly.Thank you

The restaurant is only open on Saturday and Sunday. The game goulash was hard and tough, it was obviously prepared incorrectly. The large salad consisted mainly of green leaf lettuce and was swimming in vinegar water. The criticism was received kindly, and that was it.

Why have a contact form if no one gets back to you?Edit:My technology was sufficient for other accommodation providers in your area. Funny, right. You shouldn't indulge in cynicism, just upgrade the technology. Then maybe it will work with the asterisks too.

We celebrated my husband's 60th birthday. We were completely satisfied with the service. Very, very nice hosts had fulfilled our every wish. The food was very good. We can recommend the hut 100 percent. We will be back. Thank you for one successful birthday.

We visited the restaurant on a weekend trip to the Black Forest. It is in a very idyllic location in the forest, but can be reached by car.The food was very good, price/performance ratio was definitely right.The terrace, furnishings, etc. are unfortunately a bit old. This could all be modernized and the outside area in particular needs to be tidied up.

We had a wonderful stay here. Lovely service. The food was amazing, especially the schnitzel and cordon bleu, excellent. Nice, cozy rooms. The hosts even supported us fixing a flat tire. Fully recommended.

We didn't like it there. The outside area was not tidy, everything was standing around. The pictures online seem to be a bit older... the prices are cheap but that's how it tastes... tastes like ready-made mixes, the Cordon Bleu ham wasn't my cup of tea (but it's a matter of taste), the goulash was more than overcooked (inedible! ).Unfortunately the waitress had no idea, was very shy and if you wanted something you always had to say something yourself... the person never came to you on their own.We were really looking forward to something delicious after a long day but only regretted it afterwards! You could make it so beautiful! But that's in the eye of the beholder... maybe we were just there at the wrong time.

Just a hut, but with first class service. Ideal for us: directly on Westweg. Almost in the middle of the forest. Great for hikers or cyclists passing through.The equipment is simple. There is everything that is needed. What isn't there isn't needed.The birdsong at dusk is impressive. Otherwise there is silence. The darkness at night is an experience. Not for partygoers. The name Bergwaldhütte says it all… But what sociable people!Like-minded people can be found and relaxed conversations quickly ensue, which the innkeeper spices up with a lot of humor and self-irony.Food is good and there is enough left to fill you up.Overall good value for money
