I don't really understand some of the previous reviews. We were guests with a sports group for five days and were completely satisfied. The food is completely fine and even if a child wanted an alternative, a snack was quickly conjured up. Spontaneous rebookings or requests such as gluten-free food were also no problem. The location is great and the sports field is around the corner. Since you are staying in the former fortress walls, the upper corridor echoes a bit loudly. The sinks in each room are cleaned every day, which is certainly not a given. We'll be back, best regards!

I had to come on here and try to reach as many people as possible with this review. I normally don’t leave reviews for places, but this youth hostel, I have to.So I moved to Germany for my studies and unfortunately couldn’t find a permanent (or semi permanent) student accommodation before getting here. So I had to stay at this hostel whilst I searched for my own place.Firstly, the hostel has AMAZING staff. Immediately I stepped in, I felt so safe and secure. Alex and Kathrin always made me feel like everything was going to be fine in due time. Everyone there always walked with a smile on their faces. They always made sure I was okay and that meant a lot to me.Secondly, the hostel is really really clean. The bathroom and toilets are separate but they are all well maintained. There is a janitor who cleans the shared areas of the hostel and takes out the trash from our rooms every morning. (He too was really welcoming and warm).Thirdly, they are very flexible when it comes to checking in and out. They are also very reachable. I remember reaching out to them through email whilst I was still back at home and I got a reply from Christin almost immediately. Her responses were very fast and prompt. Also, they all speak English pretty well, and that saved me a lot, since I am not very fluent in German (yet).I would give this hostel a 10/5. So many good things I have to say about this place. I just really loved my stay there and I would definitely recommend. Hopefully you will have a good time there as well.

Very friendly, warm and courteous staff in reception and kitchen.Rooms are very large and clean. We stayed with 2 families - 7 people - in a 9 bed room.Location within walking distance of the old town. We visited the Army Museum, which is highly recommended with children aged 10-15.We really enjoyed our stay and are already looking forward to our next visit to Ingolstadt with accommodation in the JHB.
