We had a perfect family vacation. The equipment of the apartments is perfectly tailored to holidays with children (3 and 6). The farm shop offers everything you need for a pleasant stay and is open 24 hours a day! There is also a great bread roll service.The hosts are super friendly and personable and are always available to help and advise.In fact, there is nothing to complain about!

For the second time during the autumn holidays we went to the lovingly run Birnbaum family farm run by Jan, Mareike and their two children.We felt right at home again and enjoyed our time in the beautiful Franconian lake district.The two friendly and personable hosts know exactly which little details are important when you are on holiday with children and are always open to questions and/or give tips for excursions or restaurants. Everything you need is there. When you arrive, the fridge is already filled with local delicacies. The spacious courtyard property has plenty of space, lots of play options as well as a large indoor play barn and numerous cute animal residents. The cuddliest ram in the world named Bocki is particularly happy about his daily cuddles during the morning feeding session (in which all participating children and parents can actively participate). There is also a varied farm day where you can get to know the other families present better in a relaxed atmosphere.Conclusion: We definitely recommend Ferienhof Birnbaum and would be happy to come back. We spent a wonderful week on the farm with our two grandchildren. The hosts Mareike and Jan were always concerned about the well-being of all guests. Our two very active boys also enjoyed the numerous activities and play opportunities. The offerings at the Hoflädle were very good and we were always provided with good tips. Beautiful holiday farm for families with children.The farm is beautiful, Jan and Mareike are very nice hosts. It's nice to feed the animals with the children in the morning and the farm day was also well organized.The stick bread and the quark were very tasty.There is a well-stocked farm shop where you can buy delicious regional things (food, drink).During the morning round you can feed chickens, pet sheep and donkeys (Bockie the ram was so cuddly 😍😍)

Great yard. Many vehicles (pedal cars) for children of all sizes. A brilliant indoor play area. Deer, donkeys, goats and chickens complete the farm experience. From here the region (Franconian Lake District) can be ideally explored.

If you're still looking for a vacation next year, you should act quickly :-)As we noticed this year, the families are not there for the first time and often book again upon arrival.So it's worth being quick :-).We will definitely come back too.It was the perfect vacation for us as a small family. Our 3 year old son was able to learn and experience so much during the week. He talks about his experiences on the farm with shining eyes.Jan and Mareike are great hosts who love their job and do it with passion. We were able to speak to them at any time without feeling like we were disturbing them. The farm day was great and a real highlight!There are also great excursion destinations in the area. For example, you can just visit a nearby playground (and yes, there are a lot of great ones) or you can also visit different lakes or cities. The surrounding towns are definitely worth a visit.We definitely could have stayed another week and will definitely come back.

There was a lot for the children to discover on the farm, animals, play opportunities (outside and inside) and lots of highlights. The daily feeding round was a must for the children, the huge play barn had toys for all ages and we also really enjoyed the farm adventure day with the hosts. The digital guest directory was very helpful for arrival, excursions and other useful information. I can definitely recommend the farm, also because of the good and friendly hosts.

We spent a week on vacation at Ferienhof Birnbaum and felt very comfortable. Mareike and Jan are great hosts. Our apartment was very nicely decorated and everything was clean. The fridge was already filled with lots of delicious things when we arrived. The apartment was child-friendly and child-safe (socket protection, fall protection, high chair, potty,...). The outdoor area was also very nice for children to play in and offered plenty of seating for everyone (including at the animal enclosures and stables). The play barn was also very nice and offered many opportunities for the children. The highlights were the animal feeding session and the production of the delicious herb quark and stick bread. There were also bratwursts and grilled cheese for vegetarians.It was a wonderful holiday with you and we would love to come back!

DO NOT BOOK! At least only after us, please 😉 We spent a lovely week at the Birnbaum holiday farm in July 2024 and are very happy to have booked a second week. The holiday farm is absolutely the right experience for our two children (5 and 3). With only 8 holiday apartments there is enough going on, but you also have enough privacy. The daily feeding session at 8:30 a.m. (lasts about an hour) is a highlight for the children. As soon as you get up in the morning, you are immediately afraid of missing the round. The fenced garden is beautifully landscaped, with many (high-quality) play areas as well as a huge trampoline, large sandpit with a play boat and then a fleet of around 20 large (mountain go-karts, where adults can also ride) and small vehicles (Kettcars, excavators). , etc.) that is second to none. The directly adjacent game enclosure with dam animals (no deer ^^) is an absolute upgrade and unique for the atmosphere of the garden. For bad rainy days, there is a huge play barn (300 m²) with climbing equipment, a giant trampoline, a table tennis table, seating areas with lots of board games to borrow and a fitness corner for dad and mom. In the farm shop you can get cool drinks and all sorts of (regional) things at absolutely fair prices. Some items are even provided for free (salt and sugar, for example). You can order very high-quality bread rolls every day, which are baked fresh for you early in the morning. It's not worth driving to the bakery given the quality. Of course, all of this would be nothing if there weren't strong hosts behind it. By the way, our apartment was very clean and well equipped. There was nothing missing. Jan and Mareike are the perfect hosts for my taste: always friendly, helpful and respectful, BUT: the two also demand respect for animals, people and their “home”, especially from the children => exactly my wavelength! And the children learn a lot about the animals and the surrounding nature from the two of them. This means that anyone who behaves according to the rules will find the perfect holiday here for themselves, but especially for their children. Special praise for the informative homepage and the digital guest directory. The region also offers a lot of attractions (both free and with admission), which tops it all off. If nothing comes up, we'll probably stop by again in 2025! I'm sure I've forgotten one or two positive things here, but here's an idea: Experience it for yourself! If anyone deserves to have a “fully booked hut”, it is Mareike and Jan with their two lovely children.
