The quality of the food was very poor and inferior, half of the menu wasn't available and one meal was forgotten.

Room goes...the waiter, the slow one should be fired. He is outrageous to the guests...it is not the guest who is king here, but the waiter! You have to be happy when he comes. Yes and the food....4x game goulash please...(3 different out of 6 dishes were canceled)..."there is only 1x goulash and 10x roast pork left...yes you eat what is available...goulash is possible You can't cook ahead of time!!! Yes... something like that ruins our business...Not recommended...The breakfast...I've never experienced anything like it in my life! The one type of cheese and sausage ran out immediately and was only refilled after everyone had eaten the jam. Very poor organization and service.

The Berggasthof Eck is located directly on the Ecker Sattel. An ideal starting point for great hikes. Everything very well signposted.The service and cuisine in the inn are excellent. Hikers get their money’s worth here!Will visit this mountain inn again very soon. This time also for an overnight stay, as it is directly on the path of the European long-distance hiking trail E6.

We, a large family, stayed in the inn for one night. A lounge that was well heated enabled us to have a nice celebration.The rooms are very old but clean.I would like to rate the breakfast as miserable. Baked rolls, cheap toast bread still in the packaging and cheap bread were served. Things were no different with the two types of sausage and cheese. For an overnight stay of almost fifty euros, you could expect a reasonable breakfast.September 2024

Four of us were cycling and stopped there for a few drinks.The service was underground.After we made our presence known with a "hello" for the second time - we were sitting outside and there were two tables occupied besides us, so it was very manageable - the waiter turned his head and said "I'm not blind". Well, a simple “Hello” and “I’ll be right back” would have been friendlier.That wasn't the only rude answer he gave during our stay. The neighboring table also got its fat removed. I don't want to repeat everything that went wrong, just a quick summary: It's a shame, unfortunately I can't recommend this place

We arrived at the guesthouse late afternoon and it is in a lovely location.We asked what time breakfast was, and were told "whenever" and no earlier than 07:30am, so we thought "Great! - No rush."08:40am the next morning as we are still sleeping the staff are drumming on the bedroom door and telling us breakfast closes at 9am - along with the whole property!We then go straight downstairs under pressure and still half asleep, eat breakfast, and even as we are eating, a sign is held about 2m from my 80 year old Mothers' face by the staff that we can only interpret as "Closed at 9am and on Wednesday".The person continued to mutter something that sounded like us not speaking the native language with a thoroughly negative body language and aggressive tone of voice.We then went back to the room to pack swiftly, and after only a few minutes AGAIN someone opened the door to the room and put their head inside while we were inside the room (and I was having a brief shower with the shower door closed, luckily!)The facts are:1) We clearly asked what time breakfast ended and were told the night before "Whenever" without any time, like it was relaxed, just not before 07:30am. Had we been told otherwise, we would have been there at 8 or 730 - or whatever suited.2) I don't expect myself or elderly mother to be treated like this and to be literally shooed out of out the door when we have paid for a room. No one mentioned the Wednesday close on the previous nor any such issue of breakfast ending at 9am.I have told the guesthouse this also and written into Google translate and explained to them how they made us feel as I also believe in direct and honest feedback. I have never experienced anything so rude in all my experiences travelling the world.Apart from that, a fantastic location. We were told that it's mainly walkers that come here, eat early, and leave to go walking because of the heat in the day. I wish the family well - but the customer service definitely needs some work!

Due to the location in the hiking area with a large parking lot that is free for visitors to the inn and €2 per day for hikers, it is great. The food is good. The prices are average.

We ate here every day of our vacation. Always very tasty and friendly service. The boss was also very nice and friendly. Always recommended. Come back next year and look forward to it

I was on the Goldsteig. Even though the farm was closed, I was offered a room with breakfast.I was the only guest that night.Small, cozy room - even if the shower and sink were in the living room. There was a large lounge with billiards, table football, TV corner, drinks machine and kitchen. Also a well-equipped fitness room.The breakfast was good and the service was very friendly!Great location in the middle of the long-distance hiking trail!

Stopover on a longer racing bike tour with drinks and soup in the beer garden. Saturday around half past four there wasn't much going on - I was served promptly and friendly, the pancake soup and beer left little to be desired. The view (from the beer garden) isn't quite as great as the location might suggest, but you can't just drive past it...
