Great service, nice room, very good breakfast with great service in the middle of the beautiful old town. I am very satisfied and would like to come back alone or with friends if I plan a longer stay in Weiden.

A great hotel with a certain flair.Rooms clean, rich breakfast buffet. Staff very nice. It's a shame that I couldn't/wasn't allowed to stay longer. But I'd be happy to come back any time I come this way.

Would stay here again and again. Breakfast could be better. Rooms are very large and very clean as is the bathroom. Beds are good and also summer blankets.

The hotel is well located, but has a very poor breakfast for the price. Arrived at half past eight when there were no more scrambled eggs. There was no more offered either. The boiled eggs were hard and ice cold. The other offer also left something to be desired.

The room was large and beautifully furnished. However, the water in the shower was cold in the morning. There were only 4 people checked in on that floor. The service at the restaurant wasn't that great. People preferred playing on their cell phones instead of taking care of customers. The food was too expensive for the quantity and quality. The beer, however, is really good.

I have been coming to Weiden on and off since completing my studies in 2013 and the Altstadthotel Bräuwirt was my first choice for accommodation (among other things because of its perfect location). On my last visit (1 night, Friday to Saturday) I arrived around 12:45 p.m. and asked if I could check in - knowing that I was arriving much too early. The receptionist said that check-in would already be possible because housekeeping had already left and that “there aren’t that many people arriving today anyway”. I saw this indication of a rather relaxed occupancy as an opportunity, pointed out my long-term stays and asked about a room upgrade (e.g. to a junior suite). And now the employee's tirade began. First he checked all of my bookings from 01/2023 to today (3 in total) and, introduced by a theatrical breath, determined that they were “far too few overnight stays”. He dismissed my suggestion that I had been a guest since 2013 and said that you couldn't compare “apples with oranges” now. I was then told that it would be my own fault if I booked through Expedia, as they would offer me much better prices and services. So the form of my booking was also not qualified and was rather inadequate on my part. Finally, he explained to me that - given all these circumstances - he could not give me an upgrade, because that would be unfair to all other guests who would have to “fight hard” for such an upgrade.Fight hard? OK. But now I'm getting out completely. As a guest in 2024, I will certainly not fight for the favor of a hotel. You, dear Altstadthotel Bräuwirt, have hereby lost the “battle” for me and for my favor as a customer. In the future (and continue to do so via Expedia!) I will make my bookings at other hotels in downtown Weiden and spend my money there.Maybe I won't be an A customer in these hotels either, but maybe I'll be met there in a respectful atmosphere without lecture-like insights into booking histories or without instructions about my booking behavior.Instead of motivating me to stay loyal to your house by upgrading and winning me over as a multiplier, you have permanently alienated me and left a dubious impression! With this in mind: I’ll say “goodbye” and goodbye!

This is the second time I've stayed here. This time, it was for over 30 days. The hotel staff and service are terrific, and the food at both breakfast and the main restaurant is excellent. The location provides easy walking to shopping and other dining experiences. The train station is also only a 15 min walk away if you want to visit Nurenberg or Regensburg. I've made some great friends while staying here and would definitely recommend.

First and foremost - I'm American and that never helps. My biggest issue was housekeeping stealing from my room, I could have overlooked everything else..... TV loses signal, is in German and no PW provided for Netflix, YouTube, etc. They have never heard of ice cubes at the front desk or in the restaurant. Refrigerators are at a balmy 57 degrees. I get that it's a cultural difference, but all the neighbor bar / grills have invested in ice machines.Food in the restaurant is very good. Drinks would be better WITH SOME ICE.I just had knee surgery and shouldn't have been OCONUS, but duty called. Asked for ice for the swelling everyday - no dice, no effort to even try to help me.Cars are parked in the garage - accessible by a car lift. Once I figured that out and the surrounding village (part sidewalks / part road), it was better. I came in blind. Tough when Google tells to you drive down pedestrian roads. If I have to return to the nearby workplace, I'll go elsewhere. This place had my blood pressure through the roof. I get that I'm abroad, but my Euros are as good as the next persons..

I would like to give even more stars. Beautifully located hotel, beautiful rooms, warm staff and great service. Plus a breakfast that is second to none. The homemade jams, real scrambled eggs, drinks, muesli, cold cuts and much more are fantastic and of high quality. Here you can really feel welcome as a guest and you are not a number in the system.I would love to come back.
