We have booked a beautiful holiday apartment for 4 people here. The house is in a quiet location and a very good starting point for activities. The location is really idyllic, right next to a small chapel. You can book breakfast daily with your accommodation, but you don't have to because the apartment has everything you need for self-catering. The inventory is also high quality. In the evening you can have a great meal at the inn. I take something different every day. Everything tastes very good, everything is freshly prepared. There is also a children's menu. The service is also very good, super friendly. Overall, you can say that you are in very good hands here and can relax. The price-performance ratio is very, very fair. We are happy to have found this holiday accommodation by chance.

We wanted to have a nice stop after a hike, but unfortunately we weren't served in the beer garden, there were already guests in the beer garden and also inside who had all already eaten and drunk.After a long wait of almost 15 minutes, we left because no one felt responsible. Very unfortunate!!!

Classic Bavarian modernized inn above Brannenburg with a beautiful outdoor terrace, next to the little church of St. Margarethen. The friendly waitress was there immediately, handed over the menu and took the order in advance for a non-alcoholic beer, 0.5 liters for 3.70 euros. The "venison goulash with bread dumplings, red cabbage and cranberry pear" that was ordered afterwards for only 15.50 euros was also served quickly and was still acceptable in terms of taste, although the "cranberry pear" had a slightly fermented, bitter taste. Due to the complaint with the request to let the kitchen staff try it themselves, they apologized profusely after a short time and served a free espresso. Due to the good service and taking all circumstances into account, 4 stars are still appropriate!

We spent 6 nights in this guesthouse. We weren't received very friendly. Rooms were OK. Only problems with wifi, constantly disabled. The breakfast was very manageable, if something was empty, we were unlucky and didn't fill it up independently because none of the staff were there. The owners lived behind the guesthouse and you had to go to them if you wanted anything else, like breakfast. 1 day no glasses for O-juice, 2nd day butter empty, 3rd day no more rolls. Rolls were baked as requested. And the whole thing was half board with breakfast per night for 2 people 94 euros, a steep price for such poor service. Not recommended!!! We had paid the full amount for the 6 nights on the 2nd day and asked if we could leave 2 days earlier because the weather wasn't very good. We were told that they could only send us the tourist tax - guest card, which would count 2 euros per day, so we stayed and made the best of it, given the circumstances. That wasn't okay either, there was no response, just a rip-off. We learned a lot from this experience. We cannot understand the positive experiences 👎. There is definitely a need for improvement! The guests are left to their own devices, unfortunately!!!!

Stopped here after a beautiful day in the mountains on Wendelstein, were served very quickly and provided with cold, inexpensive drinks.The price of the food was reasonable and it was also very tasty.Only the portions could be a little larger, but I would still recommend the restaurant and we will definitely come back.

Easily accessible, simple & rustic inn above the rooftops of Brannenburg.I have been coming to the local inn regularly for over 40 years. Whenever I was in the area, at least one visit here was on the to-do list as an integral part of my vacation planning.So far I have been fundamentally satisfied, despite the robust charm/service of the location, the simplicity and the "direct" communication that takes some getting used to, but especially because of the price-performance ratio.Unfortunately, at the beginning of this summer I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Berggasthof Kraxenberger that I had never experienced before in an inn.So I and my companion were the first and only guests to enter the guest room in a good mood right at the beginning of the opening time, without being noticed by the four people present from the owner family, who run the business themselves. Even though we had registered in advance and drawn attention to ourselves on site, we were skillfully ignored and not served. When, even after being on site for over 30 minutes, no attempt was made by the business staff to even greet us, as we were still the only guests, or even address them in any other way, let alone hand us a menu or even ask what we wanted, we felt compelled to leave the restaurant without having accomplished anything. And even this seemed to go unnoticed.This highly disrespectful and hospitable, even negative and in this form inexcusable behavior triggered such negative feelings in us and disappointed us to such a great extent that, after careful consideration, we made the decision never to return here in the future and, contrary to our original intentions Habits - since everyone should basically form their own opinion - also explicitly advise against visiting here.I don't know if it has anything to do with the renovation and expansion of the restaurant and hostel that has taken place in recent years, but newer and bigger is definitely not better here. In fact, this currently seems to be significantly overwhelming property-run hospitality.Unfortunately, only the opposite of a recommendation can be made. It's a shame where the location has developed and that a long-cherished tradition of ours has now ended in this way.
