We spent one night in the hostel with 7 people.It is not recommended at all.Here is just an excerpt of what stood out:There is no one on site upon arrival.Then two nice women arrive who have only just started that day and unfortunately don't know their way around at all.It smells like mold, there are empty beer cans and open alcohol bottles next to empty bags of chips in the lounge.The requested breakfast obviously doesn't exist.All escape doors are locked. Illegal and certain death in an emergency.The heating system is off even though the temperatures have been around 10 degrees for days.Everything is very noisy and the doors slam extremely loudly.You could go on and on...I can't imagine that any of the 5 star reviews are genuine.

The reservation was very slow and communication was difficult.The highlight was that on the day of arrival we were informed about 1 hour before arrival that the hostel was closed and no one was on site!!!Finally there was an opportunity to get a key and we were “shown” everything else via video call.The house is getting quite old, but our rooms were fine.I would definitely not book here again and choose a local alternative.It is still unclear whether the breakfast already paid will be reimbursed.

We stayed in the youth hostel for five days with our school class (years 8) and felt very comfortable there.The hostel management is very accommodating and allowed flexible arrangements regarding meal times or room preferences. There are plenty of activities (football, table tennis, fireplace) and the location is excellent with direct access to hiking trails in the forest.The food was very balanced and varied. Every time there was a salad variation and warm dishes in the evening too.The rooms are being modernized piece by piece and will offer even more comfort in the future. In short: great service!

Mattresses very uncomfortable, only one socket in an 8-person room, food only warmed up and no reception. You cannot lock the rooms and there is no safe or similar. Anyone can just get inLooks like it was stuck 35 years ago.
