One of the best group houses in the center of Germany.I would prefer not to leave a perfect review at all so that it remains an insider tip and we can still book the house flexibly in the coming years. It is simply perfect for larger groups. Yes, it has party room charm and the green carpet was a questionable decision back in the 70s, but who cares? The swimming pool, the comfortable rooms with their own bathrooms and the almost endless range of entertainment media, games, books and pinball machines are something you won't find anywhere else. The gastro kitchen unironically changed my (organizational) life. Never again without an industrial dishwasher. It's not modern hyper-luxury, but it's clean, well-maintained, functional and shockingly cheap for what you get.Neuhaus is not particularly easy to reach, but at least it is equally bad from all directions. Anyone who relies on buses and trains can get to the village from Holzminden fairly regularly. That's okay.I often book holiday homes for larger groups (25+) and the organizational process in advance was by far the most flexible and relaxed at the Waldresidenz. I was able to make changes to the number of guests up to two weeks before arrival, and I'm sure a solution could have been found spontaneously. The house was perfectly prepared, the landlords were always available and helpful (we were even given private baking trays to bake pizza!).And the pictures!! All the paintings in the house were done by the incredibly talented landlord and we were absolutely thrilled by the flair they brought into the house. If you like Lovecraft, you will love this house. And if you don't, you will too.The only drawback: We should keep the doors closed so that no raccoons come to visit. But not a single raccoon showed up, just a very well-behaved and sweet cat. Next time then!

Great house. Super equipped! Very nice support on site. We felt very comfortable and booked again for our family reunion. Yes, the furniture is a bit old, but that also makes the house affordable.

Recommended event venue for groups of up to 40 people. 1a kitchen, bar/lounge room and swimming pool. 1- to 3-bed rooms with bathrooms, which are in the changing revival of past decades, but are all clean and functional. If you know that you won't get luxury accommodation, but rather accommodation for a meeting with a larger circle of friends/family, it is absolutely recommended.

This group home is undoubtedly past its prime. Presumably only the bare minimum has been done to the building for a long time, so the condition can be described as worn or with a patina. Without basic instruction, many options remain hidden. The elevator has probably been broken for a long time. Numerous room doors are somehow patched and only fit into the frame under a lot of pressure, which causes a lot of noise throughout the house. We were here for a family reunion lasting several days, I would not choose this location again without improvements made first...ADDENDUM: Based on this review, the landlord contacted us at short notice and we were able to have a conversation. He expressed his opinion that I might have had too high expectations. I have to admit that I hadn't actually looked into our accommodation beforehand; other family members had taken care of that. With the background knowledge that the property was only taken over about a year ago and has since been renovated with passion and budget, I would at least move away from my position that only the bare minimum is being done here. Rather, my impression is that anyone who wants to create something is committed and does a lot, but there is still a long way to go. In any case, I gathered from the conversation that someone here was passionate about his plan and I hadn't noticed it that way. I was wrong about that. I wish many satisfied guests and a happy hand in implementing the plan....

We had our family reunion here with around 30 people. The house has few frills but lots of atmosphere. It is extremely well equipped for group accommodation (pool, lots of games, very well-equipped kitchen, etc.)The operators are careful and very friendly, the price-performance ratio is great. The location is very nice and invites you to do all kinds of activities. However, the house is so comfortable that we hardly left ;-)

Our family, 40 people, were here for the second time. It was great again. We were warmly welcomed and instructed. The house is a bit old, but we feel very comfortable there. The children were kept busy by the many play options and we had fun cooking in the large kitchen, which is very well equipped. We'd love to come back.A little tip, we had a delivery service from Café am Moosberg for 1 day.I can highly recommend it

Simply great! If you don't come here and vacation with your friends, colleagues or extended family, it's your own fault. Both the group house and the surrounding area are unique in Germany.
