The earth's happiness doesn't just lie on horseback ;)Iris gives a great introduction in which you learn how to properly handle and lead the donkey. It was a great experience to be out and about with senior donkey Max all day and a great contrast to the hectic everyday life! I hope I'll be able to visit you again soon =)

A little hidden away you will find a beautiful donkey farm for a comfortable donkey hike with the nice and friendly operator. We had a smaller group with children and a guided tour around Fichtenau. After an inauguration film and a brief introduction to the donkeys, we started.Completely satisfied! Gladly again!No review of the rooms as they were not used.

We spent a night on a donkey hike on the great farm and were warmly welcomed by the farm owner Iris.The shepherd's wagon is so lovingly furnished and everything you need is there.In the morning you get a great breakfast basket directly to your door.There's even a little treat for the donkeys.Of course the donkeys and the hike are the highlight.Beautiful animals, you get a very helpful introduction from Iris and we were able to start our donkey hike in the morning.Great suggestions and tips for the tour are available.If you love nature, peace and donkeys, this farm is the right place for you.An unforgettable experience that we recommend 100%.Thank you Iris and the Long Ears

Nice 90 min tour. Donkeys are very friendly to people and quite easy to lead. 8-year-old was able to lead her donkey independently for a long time. 4 year old was able to ride the route without any problems. Recommended as a family outing for all ages.

Last week we went on a wonderfully beautiful donkey trekking tour lasting several days (3 people, 2 lovely and totally relaxed donkeys, 3 overnight stays).After a detailed introduction to the donkey farm and an overnight stay in the cozy shepherd's wagon and in the witch's house (still a bit cool at this time of year), we were guided on the first day by the very friendly donkey farm owner Iris. This is a good concept to get to know the animals better and become more confident with them, and we had a great first day of hiking.Even on the next two days, when we were alone with “our” donkeys, everything went smoothly and relaxed. The two “boys” ran 1A and it was a lot of fun to be out and about with them at a slower pace.Our other accommodations along the way (2 cozy tiny houses and a great holiday apartment on a farm with alpacas and sheep) were top notch and simply something special.So a very clear recommendation and worth repeating for us too!

We spent a quiet night in the cozy shepherd's wagon. This is on the meadow, right next to the beautiful animals and is very clean, well equipped (even with a fireplace) and bed linen provided. Due to its direct proximity to the stables and pastures, the accommodation is perfectly located.Contact with Iris by email and telephone was pleasant and uncomplicated.The sanitary facilities are somewhat improvised, but completely sufficient.

A wonderful experience and a great experience hiking with donkeys. Our very friendly host Iris gave us detailed instructions on how to deal with the donkeys. The wonderfully beautiful and quiet landscape is perfect for running with the animals. The accommodation in the witch's house is very idyllic and rustic.

A very nice relaxing place, what couldn't be nicer with animals donkeys, horses, chickens, ducks. The donkey hike is highly recommended, a great experience even with children. Overnight stay in a shepherd's wagon or in the witch's hut with a great breakfast is an experience. And it's the hot tub in the candlelight on a warm summer night that's so unique.

ACTUALLY, the witch's house was supposed to be a nice end to a trip.BUT, unfortunately the name of the house says it all!3 days before the actual trip I received a positive PCR test. As if it wasn't sad enough that the vacation was over, thank God everyone reacted very understandingly, we were able to cancel all hotels free of charge and vouchers didn't expire, EXCEPT here!!!Here there were 9!!! Days before arrival, I politely asked for a solution; whether, for example, the house could be released again and we could then postpone the visit!I got a curt answer that no money had arrived and the hut was therefore cancelled. I sent the transfer receipt immediately because that couldn't be right!I didn't get a reaction for days, only after the 3rd!!! An answer came via email; "The receipt of the money must have overlapped with your first email, the hut is therefore firmly booked and I can contact my travel cancellation insurance if I don't come", I didn't think that was necessary for one night!I told her that I was too “poor” to give her the money and that we would be traveling!When we arrived she literally ran away, we weren't even welcomed, let alone greeted! Maybe someone was afraid of getting infected with Corona, or were they ashamed of their behavior (well, not so much)?One can only hope that she treats her animals better than people... or perhaps one of the "animals are better people" variety.In any case, you didn't feel welcome here in any way and the prices for the donkey hikes are utopian. We had the most amazing overnight stays, including a donkey hike, for a fraction of the money!Karma and idyll are anything but one here, we just felt uncomfortable.In any case, the customer is not king here!!!!

A really nice donkey hike with a very nice host. The booking went smoothly, the animals are wonderful, the introduction was easy to understand and everything was perfect! Definitely try it out, would be happy to come again at any time!

The stay at the Eselhof was great! Nice family and lovely animals. The price-performance ratio is right! I booked an evening in the Hotpot with my girlfriend and I can only recommend it.

Nice communication and nice donkey boss. We spent 2 nights in the witch's house and we didn't particularly like it!2 points deducted:1 point: Because of the different price offers. The cheapest option would be to book through Airbnb. Direct booking is the most expensive - which is not entirely understandable.- For us, the price-performance ratio for the Hexen-Haus is not in relation. You shouldn't have a (mite) allergy, otherwise it will be very unpleasant.

We felt very comfortable on our short vacation at the Eselhof Rötlein. Iris, the owner, is really nice. There are four beautiful donkeys, a great horse, a cute pony, chickens and a cheeky dog 🤩You definitely have to go on a donkey tour, they are just such great animals.The room was clean and the bedding was so comfortable. Although you share the kitchen, toilet and bathroom with others, we already know that from camping, so it doesn't bother us. We also only had one neighbor and he was basically invisible 😃We'd love to come back.
