Very impressed by everything I read about the Kerabauer children's farm, I wanted to spend a week there with my daughter at the end of October. However, my first impression was sobering. On our last holiday on a farm we were warmly welcomed, given a detailed tour of the farm and explained the applicable rules. At the Stollenhof, however, I was greeted by a man who didn't even introduce himself. I assume it was the owner. I was told where the play barn and the garage with the children's vehicles were located. That the garbage in the yard is separated and that the key to our apartment is in the lock. Where we found a baker and a reference to the “event calendar” ended the conversation, which lasted less than 5 minutes. Unfortunately, we were not wished for a pleasant stay.In detail:Holiday apartment:Spacious and well furnished. It's bearable here. The floor creaks a lot when you walk over it. But OK. There is even WiFi.Stable and animals:You are not allowed to go into the stable alone. Luckily, the neighbor who had a horse here was on stable duty. There are rabbits that you are not allowed to feed. Pigs that had no straw in their stall. The chickens live in an unsightly wire mesh shack. That or the ponies were in the pasture somewhere. Then there is Lucky the donkey. That's it with animals.Play barn:There is a table football and a table tennis table. Not more. The table tennis table was quite dirty and the table football was not in a child-safe condition. One pole was missing a figure and the protective cap on the pole. If a child does something wrong, the child on the opposite side gets the bar rammed into their body. The area with the hay where people can run around may be ok from a child's perspective. As a father, I found it rather poor to find a rope attached to the ceiling, a few old mattresses and two stacks of hay.Vehicle garage:First of all, it smells like oil, gasoline or something else. Everything was very untidy and a big mess. There are some large Kettcars in good condition, bicycles of different sizes and a tandem. For a three-year-old, there was a smaller cart car in good condition, two bobby cars with broken wheels, a broken balance bike, a pedal tractor that was so ripped up I wouldn't let my child ride it, and a battery-powered vehicle that didn't work. There are also a few more tricycles in more or less good condition. However, due to my disappointment with the condition, I didn't take a closer look.Outdoor play equipment: Since we didn't use these, I don't want to give a review. However, it didn't look particularly convincing.Event calendar:Feeding and mucking were only required three days a week. Monday and Friday at 10 a.m., Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. What does this have to do with farm holidays? There was supposed to be “crafting with Grandma Barbara” on Monday and baking stick bread on Wednesday. I have no idea if that even took place. At this point I was already thinking about whether I should leave immediately.Farmer Klaus:He doesn't appear to live locally. I only ever saw him when his VW bus was there. But at least he was the only person I saw there.WiFi:A joke. The information folder says that you should open the living room window if the reception is not good. But even then the reception is poor. The owner can't do anything about the poor internet quality.Common room:There are a few games, something to paint with and a small library for adults. However, it is not a child-friendly facility.Pony rides:Only available once a week. However, it's not clear to me when this is supposed to take place.
