The food in the restaurant was good, and the service was also perfectly fine and friendly. Since many guests came at the same time, the meal took a while, but the waiter pointed that out. So ok. Price performance is okay.I would give it 3-4 stars for that.Unfortunately the hotel is underground. Cables are hanging out of the walls everywhere, 1 part was cordoned off, strange smell in the hallways, junk paint buckets and foils lying around, moisture spots on ceilings and walls, etc...Nothing has been invested here for decades. From the outside the hotel looks uninhabited, with broken windows, Styrofoam behind the windows, broken roof panels. At first we thought we were in the wrong place. Unfortunately no soap or shower gel in the rooms. Shower/toilet old, small and narrowTime stopped here sometime in the 70s or 80s.The breakfast buffet was manageable but sufficient and good, and the service lady was very friendly and very accommodating.I would come back to eat, but definitely not to stay overnight.

Was there over three weeks. I have to give the staff and the hotel 5 stars. Always friendly and professional. This is not a concrete flophouse like every modern hotel but a house with history. Room clean. I haven't cleaned my own apartment as often as my bed was remade and vacuumed. 5 starsUnfortunately I can't praise the restaurant that highly. The hot stones are great but the beef comes from Argentina. The area is full of grass-eating cattle. Nobody can tell me that you can't find farmers who will raise cattle for your own restaurant. The white card should be modernized. Maultaschen are delicious but the Jägerschnitzel is a disappointment with canned mushrooms. Goulash is great in terms of content but lacks substance. “Just” a cooked fillet and rump steak.A chef with new ideas is urgently needed here. From a culinary point of view, Schonach is a desert. Here is a restaurant with regional products and the hikers rush into the place. Locals will definitely appreciate it too.Overall, definitely worth a visit. I can only recommend it!Oh yes, anyone who has a well-behaved dog is welcome here.
