Although it is such a beautiful and well-established place, the behavior of the cafe staff is far from being professional. I recommend you to find a better place in Triberg where you can have a good time with your family, more respectful to tourists.

Unfriendly: we wanted to share a piece of cake and asked for two forks: but that wasn't allowed... 😱 never heard of anything like that! We canceled straight away...

Terrible parking lot. I could smell her horrible breath coming from the door, which matched her miserable attitude. The thought of her breathing and talking during my meal made me want to walk away.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews but this restaurant’s service is terrible. I would admit the food looks great but the service was awful. The waitress was rude and disrespectful and had an awful tone. I do recommend a restaurant that is way better and a closer walk and it’s called hotel pfaff the atmosphere service is way better. Thank you and I do hope you all do better in the future.

Good size room. Good bedding. Quiet location near the famous waterfall. Good restaurant and good breakfast. Unfortunately the reception is deplorable. Not a smile! I strongly advise against it. …

My father and I visited this café for a coffee, and I came in with a big smile, hoping for a pleasant experience. I tried to talk to the woman behind the glass where the cakes are displayed (whom I’m assuming is the owner of the place with her husband), but my smile was instantly wiped out when she made a terrible face, furrowing her brows. When I politely asked if we could sit and then order, she started walking away and answered me while leaving, which felt incredibly rude.I decided to try their Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, as the place claims to be famous for it, and I also had a black tea. The woman who served us afterward was really nice, and her friendly service definitely stood out. However, the unpleasant welcome from the woman behind the bar left a bad impression. As for the cake, it was edible but not great. Unfortunately, both my father and I had trouble digesting it. My father suffered from acid reflux for the entire evening after having just a few bites, and while my symptoms were less severe, I also felt uncomfortable. This has never happened to us before in Germany, so it was quite surprising. On a positive note, the café itself is very clean, and the view is wonderful. I want to give a big thanks to the lady who served us, as she made up for the unpleasant welcome and our disappointment with the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte.

I was at the Hotel Ketterer with friends for a long weekend, we were greeted very coldly and this "unfriendliness" lasted the whole weekend.I know hospitality differently. The rooms were modern and fine except for the soundproofing. We ate the much sought-after Black Forest cake at other places at the weekend, which was of better quality and cheaper.Dinner was fine so far, but at 8 p.m. the tap was turned on and the restaurant closed. No possibility to end the evening together in the house. The absolute negative highlight was the breakfast for an incredible 15 euros. 2 types of baked rolls, some of which were not baked properly (grit). No croissants on Sunday. No fresh fruit.2 fruit juice drinks (not 100%) with pure taste from the tetra pack, poured into glass carafes. No fish.Very shameful for a cafe and pastry shop.We have found a much better offer in many simpler accommodations and have also received much more hospitality.

The name “Hotel-Restaurant-Pastry-Café Ketterer” seems to be misleading, as it is just a PASTRY.Because of an advertising sign, we wanted to stop at the pastry shop for a leisurely afternoon before driving home. Unfortunately, the staff didn't feel like having guests at all that day. The lady behind the counter told us this in no uncertain terms. Because of my lactose intolerance, I didn't want to order a cake, I just wanted to have tea and a café. With the justification that this was a pastry shop and I HAD to order something, I felt like I was asked to leave the pastry shop, which I did. Then all I got was a snippy “it’s better”

Beautiful city and location. Very bad treatment from the person in charge of administration. I don't recommend it. They will have a bad time. Answers simple questions rudely.

Unfriendliness is very important here. I have never experienced such an unfriendly atmosphere and unwelcome culture. A smiling operating robot also helps. Cannot recommend this cafe.
