We went here for lunch after hiking.The food was very tasty and the portions were large enough.Nice service and rustic guest rooms.Can be recommended.

I stayed at the Gasthof Alte Post at the beginning of the year because I had a seminar nearby. The inn impresses with its rustic charm and playful atmosphere. My room was very comfortable and I immediately felt at home.The breakfast was lovingly prepared and offered a sufficient selection. I was particularly impressed that the waitress already knew which hot drink I preferred on the second day. This shows that people work here with passion.The dinner on the sun terrace in front of the inn was also delicious and exceeded my expectations. Overall, I felt very well looked after at the Gasthof Alte Post. I can only recommend it and look forward to my next visit!

I have now been to the Gasthof Alte Post five times and have always been very satisfied. For us it is a good starting point as the bus stop is nearby. In the morning there is a good breakfast buffet and in the evening there is a delicious daily menu. The food and service are top.

We were there for dinner. It was really great. Although the zucchini cream soup was a bit thin, my husband's pork steak was fantastic. But the best thing is that every dish is finished to perfection. You could hear from the kitchen how the meat dishes were being pounded and put into the pan. Everything regional. That's how I like it best. Thanks

We stayed at the “Alte Post” inn with our motorcycle club (28 people) over the weekend (Fri-Sun). We ALL felt very comfortable. We booked half board at an unbeatable price. The selection at the breakfast buffet is varied and sufficient. The dinner (with soup, main course and dessert) was excellent and very tasty. Ok...the inn is getting a bit old. But everything is very clean and VERY WELL maintained. The house fits exactly as it is in the idyllic town of Obertrubach.A bit of a disadvantage was that you couldn't get anything to drink in the afternoon until 5 p.m. (lack of service). BUT that was also quickly solved, as there is a fairly new village shop right opposite that leaves nothing to be desired (chilled drinks, coffee/cappuccino, groceries, magazines, sweets, etc. etc.) Seating in the shop and outside.In short... if I were in the area again and needed a good place to stay overnight, I would come back to the "old post" without hesitation.

Cozy, clean and authentic inn, including modern solutions such as the clever room card system. Fortunately, the WiFi also works.All the employees were nice and accommodating, although you never really got into a conversation with anyone because they were probably always busy due to the lack of staff. 🤷🏽♀️Overall, the inn and the surrounding area are really recommended. Beautiful piece of earth!
