Good steaks

We had booked the suite for 3 nights and had this confirmed by email. We arrived on the agreed date on August 18th, 2019.There was no one to be found in the guesthouse. After telephone contact, the owners came and denied the booking, we were only allowed to stay in a double room for a maximum of 1 night. We had the impression that we were unwelcome and a nuisance.We then found very nice accommodation with the best food in the Pension Sonnengarten a few hundred meters away.

Very nice guesthouse. Simply recommended. Breakfast was delicious and there was always someone available. The winter garden is being remodeled, but I think it's good that despite this, operations will not stop but overnight stays will continue to be offered.Best place to stay in Meiningen!!!

Pension reasonably priced, but not on the same level as a hotel. Cleaning the room/bathroom was reduced to emptying the trash can in the bathroom and replacing the used towels. The floor in the double room (second floor) was never cleaned during the several-day stay. Making the bed is not included in the price! (Statement from the host: “We are not a hotel, just a guesthouse!”) The water pressure of the shower head was more than inadequate! A good shower was simply not possible. There was no response to reports of this deficiency. The fan in the bathroom runs when the light is turned on, but its efficiency is too inefficient. To get to the breakfast room, you have to leave the guesthouse and cross the street. Breakfast was simple (sliced ​​sausage from Aldi & Co.). Coffee was OK. When we were told about an empty Nutella jar, we were given a replacement that was already half empty and opened with the used spoon from the first jar! :-( The guesthouse is not barrier-free and does not have an elevator. The rooms can only be reached via a steep spiral staircase. The restaurant has been closed since January 1st, 2019, although the menu is still on display. The winter garden is not available (renovation work), Cake is not available. A reception (contact person on site) is not always available. Telephone in the room: not suitable for demanding stays (student rooms/workers on assembly), nothing more! In any case, as the name suggests, we cannot understand or confirm the previous (consistently positive reviews) (stay at the beginning of March 2019).
