I really enjoyed visiting this hostel! The people were really nice and I enjoyed the food. The food was amazing! The Hotel also had horses and a western USA feeling. I live in the Western USA and I felt right at home. Highly recommend!

Great food & ambience! There was a small error in our invoice, which the hotel team took care of immediately and corrected it. When something goes “wrong” you only realize what really good service is. Great, thank you very much! 100% recommendation.

We redeemed our Jochen Schweizer “short vacation” voucher. The process worked great. The reception, the room and the food (half board) were absolutely according to our expectations! The hotel is absolutely quiet. We took the opportunity to explore some beautiful destinations in the Thuringian Rhön from there. We enjoyed this short vacation.

I spent a week's riding holiday here and can only recommend the hotel. I was a bit skeptical at first because I have a dust allergy and there is (very pleasantly fluffy) carpet everywhere. But it was very clean and I had no problems. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Familiar, relaxed, pleasant size and lots of other guests. The room and bathroom were newly renovated, comfortable and furnished to a high standard. The garden is also beautiful. There are comfortable loungers and chairs, for which there are also cushions. The food was great. I eat vegetarian and a delicious alternative to the meat dishes was always served. The drink prices are perfectly fine. To make it easier to pay for drinks in the evening, you should take cash with you.

Positive:Nicely furnished rooms, clean and well maintainedBeautiful location in the RhönVery tasty food in the attached restaurantFriendly staff, except the boss herself, therefore negative:1. First of all, she argued with her employees in a condescending and impossible manner in front of the guests.2. She told us in a very rude manner that our car was in the wrong place (but an employee had assigned it to us beforehand). This employee was also visibly embarrassed and uncomfortable by the situation.3. Breakfast: There is a small pot of coffee on every set table. When it was empty, we asked the boss (since she was in the room setting up) to refill it. She took the pot, put it in the adjacent kitchen and was no longer seen. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we left (without coffee) and saw the boss herself having breakfast comfortably in the courtyard. Very bold and rude.Breakfast the next day: An almost empty fruit plate (with a maximum of two small pieces of melon) was replaced by the staff. A fresh fruit plate was put out. But he only stood there until the boss saw him. It was then put back into the kitchen and the old fruit plate was put back. It should probably only be emptied down to the last tattered pieces of fruit. Austerity! There was also a bread roll that had already been cut open in the bread basket (i.e. someone had already had it on their plate and then "put it back" again... Completely disgusting)! We actually wanted to share our impressions and experiences with this impossible person himself. Unfortunately she wasn't there when we left.I would like to emphasize again that this criticism does not affect the remaining employees. They were all friendly. They can't do anything about this manager's behavior!Unfortunately, we would not visit this hotel again and cannot recommend it for such a high price.

On our hike on the "Hochrhöner" we were able to have a very good overnight stay here in a newly renovated room. Our dog was also welcome. The 3-course menu in the evening and the breakfast the next morning were very good and we were able to start the next stage well-rested and strengthened.

My wife and I redeemed our mydays voucher at this hotel, even if it was at very short notice. Since we were unsure, we called the day before and asked if it was even possible. We then had a very friendly telephone conversation. We found out there that we would get a room with a balcony which meant an extra charge of €5 per person, an energy fee of €10 per person and since we had a small dog with us, another €15 per night was added for this. We also booked the 3-course menu for the first evening, for a total of €60. So far everything is understandable and comprehensible. We are restaurateurs ourselves and understand that!!!Unfortunately, the restaurant itself does not have “real” opening times, so we were asked to take our evening menu between 6 and 7 p.m. The taste was okay, the soup was good, the main course was a bit too salty and the dessert was changed without notice, there was red jelly with vanilla sauce instead of panna cotta. The breakfast buffet, which was included, was a joke!!! The rolls (possibly baked rolls) were no longer crispy or even remotely warm at 8 a.m., the selection of sausage, cheese and the like was minimalistic, the fruit was a small plate that resembled a fruit salad... the coffee is worth highlighting...In general we were very disappointed with the service, we felt like we were more of a nuisance…The rooms, on the other hand, were very modern, comfortably furnished and very clean…Our conclusion is that the peace and quiet was very good for us & we think that the Rhön region has a lot of potential, but it's not right for us - we won't be coming back.

We slept in the star car for 2 nights and have rarely come back from a short trip so refreshed! A great experience to sleep under the stars, evening peace in the middle of nature! In the morning there was a bread roll service, which allowed us to get up flexibly, just great! (Alternatively there is also breakfast in the hotel, about a 2-minute walk away)Dinner at the hotel was also a revelation: regional cuisine, down-to-earth dishes with excellent composition and presentation - someone knows what they're doing! The star chariot itself is next to a ranch (probably particularly recommended for horse fans). A small table with two chairs in the small separate area ensures cozy evenings/mornings in nature. There is rather little space inside (but completely sufficient for us), everything looks freshly renovated and was immaculate (shower with clever ventilation system!), like a small self-catering holiday apartment on wheels! The only suggestion for improvement would be 2 loungers for the outdoor area - whether for relaxing during the day or stargazing at night!Either way, we'll definitely be back! :)
