Location close to the sea, but right on the busy main street, where almost all the restaurants and shops are and therefore many people are on foot and by bike, so overall quite noisy.Room in the adjacent building "Pancake House" is very small and has a huge sloping roof, which makes it impossible to sit upright in bed to read or watch TV.Since it is a seaside resort close to the beach, there is no place to hang up wet bathing clothes, i.e. swimwear and damp beach towels, but the bathroom is simply too small for a clothes rail or something similar, and there is no balcony that can be used for this.The entrance area of the pancake house stinks all the way up to the corridor with the guest rooms, it's not clear whether it's garbage, leftover food or mold.Staff very friendly, breakfast buffet really good, rooms are cleaned properly every day.All in all, the staff was great, the rooms were only good for people who only came to the room to sleep.In the main building "Hotel Pension am Hafen" the rooms are probably larger and have no or less sloping ceilings, otherwise there would probably be less good to very good reviews.So it's better to ask for a room in the main building or choose other accommodation.

We, my daughter and ours stayed in this hotel for 1 night.For one night, a room including breakfast paid €165. In my opinion, price-performance is inhumane.We had a room in the pancake house.First to the reception:The reception door is extremely difficult to open, the staff are friendly.To get to the room we had to climb a steep staircase with our luggage in our dog cart.If you have limited mobility like me, you won't enjoy it!!Room number 2 in the pancake houseIt was really extremely small for 1 adult, 1 child and 1 small dogThe bed or the mattresses and pillows and blankets are not a total disaster, as hard as if you were lying on the floor.The cleanliness was fine except for the cobwebs. I would have liked to have had a dustpan and a hand brush to clean up the sand that a dog brings with it.Unfortunately there was no fly screen in front of the window. So we couldn't open the window, and after a short time the heat in the room was unbearable.So we had to go out in the middle of the night to get some fresh air.As mentioned above, we were there with our dog, unfortunately there wasn't even a drinking bowl or a place to lie down for dogs. Unfortunately not very dog friendly!!The breakfast was ok but the breakfast ladies weren't very friendly and watched us the whole time.Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take our dog cart with us either; we had to put it in the corner.Our dog is older and can no longer lie on the floor.So we didn't have a quiet moment while eating breakfast.The building is very noisy so you can hear when guests downstairs are a little louder.If you want to buy something to drink or snacks, you have to walk about 30 minutes - it's a long way away.If you want to go to the “beach” you have to be prepared for very steep stairs.About 10 minutes walk to the beach.Unfortunately there is no possibility for dogs to get into the sea in Norddeich.You are immediately scared away by the DLRGOh, before I forget, if you want to cancel you have to be prepared for 80% cancellation fees.We specifically asked!We will not visit this hotel again. !

Short routes. Everything is easy to reach. About 10 minutes walk to the harbor. Nice hotel. I had a beautiful, modernized single room in the attic. Small but nice. The staff is very friendly. Both at the reception and in the restaurant. I liked it a lot. Recommendation

The location is very central directly behind the dike and it is not far to the train station.The employees are very nice and welcoming and if it were just about them I would have given the service 5 stars. The star deduction in the service is because the problems mentioned in the room are not resolved. For example, I didn't have the opportunity to shower because the shower only splashed. Not nice for a stay of several days. The error could not be corrected until departure. So we come to the room category. The furniture in the bathroom is very old. There are only sharp screws sticking out of two doors without handles. Another door also had a broken handle. The rest of the room was clean and comfortably furnished. Completely sufficient for one person. A big problem is the humming of the extractor hood from the restaurant downstairs, which even causes the window to vibrate when you touch it. At first I thought it was a washing machine or a helicopter flying nearby. When I reported this it was confirmed to me that it must be the extractor hood. But it cannot be changed. I wasn't offered a replacement room either. The humming is so loud for me that I couldn't stay in the room between 12 and 9:30 p.m. Which is of course very unpleasant when it rains. The Ocean Wave then offered me shelter and shower facilities.That was probably my last visit to this hotel. The price-performance ratio is not right here. And you don't get any peace either. Because of the very noisy house.If you have difficulty walking, you should be prepared for steep stairs. The others had real problems getting their suitcases into the attic.A huge compliment at this point to the staff again. Without this friendliness, I might have left earlier.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay.The room (3) is very small but nice and well equipped.The breakfast buffet was good and tasty.At this point I would particularly like to thank the extremely friendly and attentive lady (waiter)!The location is excellent! A few minutes walk (5) to the dike and some shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.There are still 2 small points of criticism.- There were some cobwebs hanging in the upper part of the room and the fittings in the shower were surrounded by black (mold?) and the seals were coming off. That's a shame because the bathroom is very pretty and modern despite its small size.- Since we were there with our dog, a broom or dustpan set would have been nice to remove the sand that a dog brings in.We would like to thank you very much for the lovely stay in your house!
