Camping Lotje

Only the name made us decide to see if this campsite had a spot for us (our granddaughter's name is that too), we did not regret our choice, nice Dutch lady at reception, nice child-friendly campsite and clean sanitary facilities. Beautifully situated on a stream.

Great beautiful campsite! Very nice owner, beautiful grounds, friendly people. Showering is free. Great location too. I'm here as a solo traveler with a tent, but there are also many families there. Highly recommended! :)

This campsite is located in the middle of the green Harz area, near Haddorf am Harz.This campsite has been in the possession of the current owners for 11 years and was previously called camping Oderbrücke. The name has recently been changed to campingLottie. Not only the name and website have changed; This year we also started renovating the campsite. That was/is desperately needed.We were kindly received and taken to the new tent.Since '23, 4 new, mega-large Voda tents have been available for rent for 4 and a maximum of 6 people. The sizes are the same, a ballroom with an inner room and a large spacious covered veranda with plenty of seating. You will also be dry there if it rains heavily! Wonderful sofas to sit on and of course the fantastic, indispensable mobile kitchen.We have been celebrating our holidays in safari tents for about 10 years, but this size was the largest ever!The tents have 4 'private' parking spaces and each person receives a magnetic card for a 20 euro deposit to open the railway barrier if you are with a car/camper.The ladies' shower room has been completely replaced. 4 showers and a separate baby area with a bath and changing mat. And an area with a washbasin block with several sinks with mirrors and sufficient light. The showers are free to use. A small downside is that there is no towel roll or hand dryer and the floor is not tiled at an angle and does not have a good water barrier, which results in a large layer of water over the entire tiled floor by the afternoon, so not sock-proof. But it is clean. !The men's showers are orange and still in their 'old' condition. These will also be addressed this year, the owner said.There is no restaurant or seating, which is a shame, but don't worry: you can order some food! I have attached a photo of the menu and heard from the neighbors that the pizzas were tasty.Another point of criticism (this will certainly be on the renovation list) is that there is only 1 place for washing up on the entire campsite. 1 Covered dishwashing shed with 2 sinks and a drying rack, where you can stand 2 people. So that was drawing numbers in the evening.The campsite is located on the Oder and during the high season there is an activity for the kids twice a week. Search for gold in the Oder and roast marshmallows over the large fire bowl on the premises. There is also a log cabin especially designed for kids, complete with toys, books, pencils, sticker books, etc.There is also a mini library where everyone can borrow books.During these 11 days we had a lot of trouble with the many biting flies and the enormous amount of mosquitoes.🪰🦟On the other hand, many birds of prey fly above the wheat fields and along the forest edges, fantastic for, among other things. see the buzzard and red kite hunting every day while you sit by your tent. You are in nature, we also had a lovely run here.🏃🏽🏃🏻‍♀️ This terrain is good for the calves.Also take a flashlight with you because the lighting on the site leaves much to be desired. A walk at night from the tent to the toilet room (especially if it has rained, quite deep puddles on the road) is quite an exciting undertaking.The toilet block is divided into a men's section, which is still orange and has not yet been addressed. In the ladies' room, 4 new toilet bowls with cisterns have been installed and the tiles, doors and walls have recently been painted. Everything is small and very narrow but clean and there is plenty of toilet paper. Unfortunately, there is no mirror above the only sink there. In the hall in front of the toilets covered with corrugated ash there is 1 air blower to dry your hands.If you camp close to the toilet building, you will be bothered by this noise 24/7 because it is open.The price/quality ratio is excellent for us at the moment. The tent and camping spot were great and the facilities were perhaps a little less, but overall a great campsite to stay for a week!Another tip for holidaymakers: make sure you have enough cash in your wallet. There are many shops (including some supermarkets) and many restaurants where you CANNOT pay with a bank card. Not even with a Rabo or ING).

It's been a week, a nice and cozy campsite. It looks neat and there is plenty to do. There is also plenty to do for the children. Worth repeating.

Beautiful and quiet campsite between the trees. Spacious camper pitches. Walking and cycling opportunities. Wonderful for a few days.

We were able to stay for five days in a brand new five-person safari tent. These tents are very spacious and clean. There was even a heater, which heated the tent well, as the nights still felt a bit chilly during this period. We had a wide and beautiful view. We were very kindly received by the owners. In the morning there is a bread service, we had delicious fresh rolls for our breakfast. We experienced our stay as excellent, at a friendly campsite in beautiful surroundings, close to the Oder.There is also plenty to do here for families with children. A large playground is available. Quite recently, a complete log cabin was furnished with toys and an area for crafts.For adults there is a library where books can be borrowed during your stay, which we gratefully made use of.
